| Rovers looked in control up to the Tansey try, I thought that going in at 12-0 would have been harsh on us, as it was Hull got to 12-6 and must have been delighted and looked the better team from then on. (barring the last ten maybe.)
I agree on the "under 8's" style rugby although maybe wouldn;t have put it so harshly. FC threw the ball around pretty recklessly and it came off for them and as such looked adventurous, on another day it wouldn't come off and look desperate. As I put in another thread they more or less seemed to say sod it after the Briscoe lay off (as in the Leeds game) and it started to pay off..
Bottom line we had an off day and came through which has to be a positive thing.

| Quote: Alphabetti Spaghetti Go! "No tinted specs here, Rovers played poorly, as they have for the last 2 months, yet were still the better side (just) over the full 80 minutes. Yes, Hull had periods of domination (last 10 mins of 1st half, 1st 15 mins 2nd) but looking at the full picture, we shaded it, as the score suggests. If Galea hadn't had axle grease on his hands we would have been out of sight by half time, but thats idle speculation, a bit like harping on about refereeing decisions.
End of the day, Rovers will have to get back to their early season form to make any impression on the Play Offs, otherwise it will merely be a 2 week season extension. Hull's season is over, as they will not make up a 4 point deficit on teams in the top 8.'"
I agree so here's a couple of previous comments from "respected" posters on this forum regarding Mr Silverwood.
Quote: Alphabetti Spaghetti Go! "Thaler (and Silverwood for that matter) doesn't deserve to earn a living from our game.
'"
Quote: Alphabetti Spaghetti Go! "Silverwood is a useless pillock.'"
We will obviously disagree on the game as I believe we shaded the game but didn't get the rub of the green when we needed it. TBF we shouldn't need to rely on luck and it shows just how poor we have become. I agree we wont make the play-offs but unless you improve significantly in the next few weeks I cant see you making much of an impression in the play-offs.

And there is your problem, you cannot win even when you outplay the opposition (allegedly )

You would also have to look at the amount of 'line-balls' that get let off nowadays. I reckon you can safely say that if your side are penalised for giving a forward pass, you can pretty much guarantee it went forward!
To be fair it's the only thing the FC supporters can latch onto as far as salvaging any pride from another derby defeat. They nearly scored off an illegal play. WOW!
If anything it should have been a Rovers penalty, unless you can say Craig Hall 'accidentally' passed it forward.'"
since when do you get penalised for giving a forward pass ?

Technically, you could say the receiving player is offside

Don't listen to that idiot.
It wasn't forward. Try should have stood. Can't say you would have won as there was ten minutes to go, anything could have happened.

Sorry Sid but I have to disagree with you. The pass was certainly passed forward. I have a still picture taken from the SKY footage which shows the moment the ball leaves Hall's hands and his hands are pointing towards the Rovers try line which is what in the laws of the game constitutes a forward pass. Silverwood would have only looked at Halls hands as the direction that the ball travels is as per the laws of the game somewhat irrelevant although in this particular case a still of Raynor reaching forwards to collect the ball shows it being collected about 2 metres in front of where it was passed from.
Of course a oenalty could be awarded if it was judged to be deliberately thrown forwards but generally the team passing forwards is given benefit of the doubt.

I'd love to know how Silverwood could see Hall's hands from where he was It clearly wasn't forward but this is even boring me now. Most fair minded Rovers fans (along with the vast majority of neutrals) have said it wasn't forward. IMO it was a turning point in the game but even I'm not blinkered enough to say we WOULD have won had it stood. Just a shame a tense and exciting game has been spoiled by a poor decision.

So if all these people say it was forward then it must be right. You're right opn one thing this is getting boring. There's no point in trying to explain to someone who just can't or won't understand the laws of the game. Like I said, I have a still of the pass itself and it is clear from that still that not only can Silverwood see the direction of the hands it is also clear that Hall got his body position wrong and passed the ball forwards but never let the truth get in the way of a moan will you.
