It has nothing to do with where the ball ends up or Stevo's stupid "momentum rule", it's the DIRECTION OF THE BALL RELATIVE TO THE PLAYER as it leaves a player's hands.

That is absolutely correct and that is why the Dobson pass wasn't forward imo. Also the ref was in a very good position to judge it. |

2 super league refs have both said there is no such rule as stevo describes it.
you have to take into account players may well be running when the ball is passed but a pass is only ever forward if the player throws the ball forward.
which bit of that dont you get?? |

Stevo's use isn't correct, there is no "momentum rule" applied to judge forward passes in Rugby Leaugue terms. There is "Newton's 2nd law of Motion" that has to be applied to forward passes, otherwise any passes made at speed would be judged as forward.
As I (and others) have said, it's purely the initial movement of the ball (forward or backward) that counts. |

Sorry to rain on yours, but it wasn't, I have checked the results on Sky, CEEFAX, Hull Daily Mail and the Rovers website and they all have Webster scoring, therefore it wasn't a forward pass. |

yes it was!! the officials just didnt give it as a foward pass. it happens all the time in rugby league. just like all teams time waste for the drop out restart we all see it week in week out but because the ref dosent give a pen doesnt mean it isnt time waisting.
you can admit it that the ball went foward?? the rfl wont take the try back.

And Bridge scored too, so neither of the passes leading up to it were forward either 
FWIW, I thought Webster's try was superb. Wonderful flowing move everything that Rovers have been this year and everything we haven't.
