Whilst many Rovers fans are happy to laugh at Hull signing Hall, we all recognise he's got great potential in attack and blindingly obvious defensive weaknesses. Maybe he'll make it, maybe not, but the reality is that the overseas quota reduces each year so clubs are going to have to take more of a punt with British players rather then stuff the squad to breaking point with Aussies. Hall is a relatively cheap gamble in this respect and Hull's approach in retaining its best academy players (even if they're not world-beaters) is done with future squad structure requirements in mind and should be applauded IMO.

I'd wouldn't have minded Craig at Rovers, has the potential to be a good player, but at the moment can't see him being anywhere near our starting line up. Good move for him to stay in West Hull as he's getting regular game time which he wouldn't get with a current top 6 club. Best of luck to him.

It's called investment for the future. Before long you'll need to have 6 fewer overseas players than you currently have. Top British players will be at a premium, so developing and retaining your own academy players is the way forward. Not all will make it, but you've got to be in it to win it, so to speak.

It's clear they do. Look at how you took the opportunity to give I'Anson an extended run in the first team with Cooke's ban and Murrell's injury. And took the chance to promote from within to get to the standard overseas quota when Webster was injured.

Chev walker is the worst centre in SL, he can't defend to save his life, and it looks like his ball retention is even worse. Craig Hall is twice the centre he is already and he still needs to work on a lot of his game.
