| I think there are far too many people venting with knee jerk reactions to what was a disappointing Easter weekend.
Did anyone really expect to beat Hull before the game kicked off? The manner in how the team failed to make the numerical advantage count to secure an unexpected win was the start of the negativity.
Did anyone expect the team to get the points away at Wigan? The shoddy show was lacking in the effort that even in defeat we’ve come to expect from a Tim Sheens team. Should he have rotated the squad much more? The performance suggests he should have, the result would probably have been the same and many would be fresher for Widnes; but hindsight is a wonderful thing.
The biggest lesson learnt imo: Atkin is a great prospect BUT is not ready to be the dominant half back at SL level. Sign another Lui type half back and let Atkin cover when the inevitable injuries occur. He needs a couple more seasons experience at this level yet.

| Quote craig hkr="craig hkr"For me it was the manner of the derby defeat rather than the defeat itself. Beat Widnes and we are probably where we thought we would be.The Leeds Cats and FC games points thrown away that would change how we perceive our season so far. I have no problem venting frustration and have in here and other forum but the real problem with these last few topics is the Curlies are wading in and putting boot in alongside a few b&ws pretending to be KR fans.As i say win v Vikings and things look a little better.Lose and it does look bit grimmer'"
Similarly, If Hull had beaten wigan, leeds, cas and salford things would look a lot better

| The worry for me if I was a rovers fan would be that everyone else has a better squad than you but hudds and les cats are currently under performing. if they pick up their form (particularly les cats who have a top 8 squad) then you could be in trouble. It's difficult tpo say how strong the championships sides are but toulouse, london and toronto are going well so the middle 8's could be the most competitive yet

| Any fan from any club can look at a defeat and say if this if that take some positives out of it but the reality is Rovers are in bottom two for a reason ..they are not good enough how anyone can say they can still make top eight is laughable. The wizard Sheens has lost his wand ,he lost it years ago. When you sign second rate injury prone players then your asking for trouble

| Getting Wigan away on Easter Monday was the last thing we needed and with a lot of injuries we couldn't even bring in fresh players. The outcome was almost inevitable, we kept it to 0-0 for 27 minutes but the energy ran out and then it wasn't a contest.
Would Huddersfield, Catalans, Salford or Widnes have done much better, I doubt it and I agree that we are in a 5 team mini league the prize being 8th place. Not saying we will come out on top of that group but certainly it is still all to play for, we have 4 games left against those teams 3 of them at home.
The Saints game saw us lose McGuire, Lawler, Heffernan and Mulhern for the entire Easter programme to add to Shaun Lunt and Danny Addy. It was bad enough going into the derby without that lot but to back up on Easter Monday at Wigan really was too tough.
The good thing I suppose is that Wigan away is a probable loss anyway and in the circumstances we may well have lost to more modest opponents.
It's going to be tough of course it is but right now is a low ebb and there will be better moments for sure. If we do end up in the middle 8's I think we will be OK. London have been going great but with much the same team that couldn't live with us last year.
As for Sheens I do wish that those who criticise could spend 10 minutes in his company they would soon change their minds.
