| Quote andy hound dog="andy hound dog"Cop out by the club. If he wasn\'t convicted I think it would have been good of the club to stand by him and show loyalty - as it is, it's a terrible example to show kids of what little happens as a result of this kind of violence - a few months off and a dip in your substantial paypacket.
The worst part for me was the part about the club watching the video and then deciding that more action wasn't required (what WOULD have been bad enough for them???) ERY hard to justify that shocking video!
What a hero! I normally have a soft spot for KR but i'm disgusted and dissapointed TBH! I'm not just saying this to have a pop at your club.

Wigan rugby league player Iafeta Palea'aesina has been sentenced to 200 hours community service for breaking a bus driver's jaw.
Can you tell us what punishment did Wigan hand out to Paleaaesina ?
Glass houses springs to mind.

The same he would have done if he had gone inside, just its only for 2 months.
Not wanting to be too cynical, but Hudgels words on RH were "he would not be considered for first team selection". Does that mean he could play for the Under 21's?
I also think its convenient for both parties. It gives Cockayne the time to do is community service without having to fit it around work committments.
I hope that the service he does is not a cop out of going into schools to coach rugby. It should be something like scraping chewing gum off pavements.

Wouldn't coaching young, impressionable children whilst advising them of the pitfalls of violence and the harsh realities of prison be a useful thing ?

| I think a fair punishment all round and well done rovers for not sweeping it under the carpet. I think once he is over his injury he will be playing for reserves to keep him match fit which i think is fair.

To any one who thinks this is the right decision for the club+ courts to take ,i will ask you all .Would you feel the same if the victim was a mate /member of your family ,or even yourselfs ?. I dare say your opinion would be very different. I would guess that you would want him locked up ,out of the way of the public .

Turn the question around if it was a member of your family that had commited the offence would you be happy to support them and be thankfull they had note gone to jail? What I actually think is that if Rovers had got rid, the club would have opened its self up to legal action from his legal team & only to see him signed for one of our competitors.Needless to say Ben will have to do great things for me to reguard him as one of the Rovers Family.

What's the club going to do? Lock him up themselves. Personally, they should have given him a season ticket at the KC... that's a tad harsh though.
It's the good course of action from the club, basically giving him a suspended sentence themselves.
Let's see if Saints and Pryce and Warrington with Reardon follow suit. It was far easier to sack Hayward at Cas and therefore that decision wasn't the biggest of moves.
