briscoes attacking game is all about support play, hes said numerous times the amount of tries he got at hull was down to rich horne.

if he isn't getting the ball when hes supporting its not his fault.

I thought Briscoe was very, very good last night in all areas! Didnt look to me as there was much in the tackle on Bailey to warrant any further punishment but I have not seen it on TV yet, only the big screen.

My MOTM would have been Galea, I thought his tackling was bang on.

Dobson had a good game but not a MOTM display for me.

Out of the props, Fozzard was excellent. Got smashed all over the place in the first half, just got up and carried on with the hard graft, made stronger yards in the second half.

I was also pretty impressed with Fitzhenry's spell in the first half, looked very tidy.

Colbon to me looked pretty good, not many attacking chances but takes the ball in hard and straight when coming off his own line.

It is quite clear that you don't rate the guy and your love for motu is all consuming but please try to give an unbiased view of Briscs performance.
He was outstanding in defence, saving a certain try, safe under the high ball, ran the ball out well, scored a try and was there in support.
What more does he have to do?

Briscoe is a quallity full back and gives 100%.

What more can you ask for.

If there is a better English full back in this country I want to know why he's not playing in the Super League?? Wellens is past it, Smith is no where near (and believe me the Aussies love seeing his name on the team sheet), and Platt?????????????? I wont even go there!!!!

Only player that would get in would be Sykes IMO and thats only for his attack, I dont think there is a better defensive full back in SL than Brisk.

Briscoe excellent,I still get mixed up between him and Dobson when on the telly,they look alike to me from a distance.

It's not just his attacking game, it's his kick returns. He rarely makes decent yards.

Having said that, he was easily the best of the two FBs on display last night and I thought he was a strong contender for MOTM.

It's got nothing to do with Tony, I have the same criticisms of pretty much all British fullbacks. Check the international board throughout the period of the world cup, I was saying exactly the same things then about Wellens.

It is a big problem as far as I'm concerned, and it's a major reason why we're so far behind the Aussies. The attitude towards a fullback's role by many in this country is to hope that they're 'safe' and decent defensively. It's the same from juniors to the amateur game, into academies and at first team level. It's no surprise, with this attitude, that the best fullbacks in the league are all antipodean, and that's a trend that doesn't look like changing currently.
