Thanks also for keeping Cas in the top eight this week.
If you could oblige next week as well...... we'd be very grateful.

3076_1671446335.jpg SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS
For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled.
For 27 - 0 you get a trophy
For 75 - 0 you get sod all.
Wigan had eight in a row
Saints have five in a row:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_3076.jpg |

| Quote: rover49 "Unless I have it wrong, the ball was still in play and until it goes dead its irrelevant when the hooter went.'"
The hooter went when the tackle was made. At that point the ball is "dead".
That's what all the fuss is about.
At the end of the day we can't change it, but surely at least one of the officials heard it. If that's the case one of the touchjudges should have stood his ground after the try had been scored and informed the referee.
From what I'm being told there is no dispute that the hooter had gone before the ball was played, just that the referee didn't hear it.
As I've just said we (Wigan) have to grin and bear it, but it's a shame it's the main talking point of an excellent and brutal (not dirty) game of Rugby League.

| Maybe you need a louder hooter! Was driving me mad at the end, kept thinking i'd heard it and I hadn't, it's so high pitched it blends in with the crowd noise.

Incorrect. The referee calls the end with his whistle, don't play to that and you'll be punished.
Granted, the ref should have blown his whistle after the hooter sounded if he deemed the play was dead, but he didn't and there was still one tackle to play out before the end of the half.

spot on there trace, never heard the hooter at the end of either half over the crowd noise in our stand, if it's cost wigan 6 points you'd think the club would get a louder one!

You can have those six points back, and we only won by two then
On that logic those six points back would mean our early second half try would have put us into a 12-0 lead and you would not have clawed that back in that weather.
It doesn't matter all I'm saying (as I wrote in my site match report) is that if that was the other round you lot on here would equally be screaming blue murder, although I do accept that the referee's whistle is final. Also if you do read the report on my site you will notice that I'm not fingering the blame solely at the referee. We had our chances second half but no craft or guile to get over.

| An excellent away following last night and an excellent game.
The first half was stunning! The tackling from both sides was superb and some of the hits your lads withstood to come back from and still look fresh were awesome.
That was our most punishing defensive display in years and you still beat us so that shows what a good side you are.
Good luck fir the rest of the season.

It was an odd decision and certainly helped our cause as much as our try that should've stood helped yours. IMHO I thought we got all the 50-50 decisions up to the final 15 minutes and then you got nearly everything. At the end of the day it's not the first and it won't be the last time we're talking about the ref after a game.

Ref adjudged that Dobson hadnt kicked the ball through before it hit the floor, so knock on awarded.
