No he aint a winger but a lot of young players get a start on the wing, Paul Fletcher & Jammie Bovil to name but two.He will mature into a back row forward if he stays.
Thought Fox was good but I suspect that his leaving is down to the salary cap? meaning we can spend the cash better on other positions that we need over what I assume is a high paid winger.

I really hope that he is. People need to realise that if Latus succeeds as a Super League player long term then it will be on the wing or at a push in the centres. He hasnt the physique or skill set to play anywhere else. I am glad that he has extended his stay though and would leave him in the side till the end of the season for his development.

Doesn't seem to be particularly blessed with pace to play on the wing and seems really quite small to be playing at this level anywhere. I can't see him making it as a centre, although he hasn't exactly had a lot of ball to show what he can do.

He is faster than he is given credit for. Certainly a lot faster than Liam Colbon, although i appreciate that Colbon has other strengths to his game.

| Quote EL CAMO="EL CAMO"Shouldn't have let Fox go, poor decision.'"
I he played like he did every game then it would have been the wrong decision but the reality is, is that he's turned in absolutely unacceptable performances.
This season, the side has struggled for territory and possession and Fox has been one of the main culprits with his lack of ability to keep hold of the ball - if we don't keep the ball then it doesn't matter who else is in the team cos all they must think is "we have to defend yet another set of six because Foxy's knocked-on".
I'm sick and tired of his inability to hold on to the ball and will be on good money so is poor value.
Regarding Latus, he's fairly solid under the high ball (and even faster than Fox over the shorter distances apparently). And whilst I doubt whether he's good enough for a first choice, he's a cheap and reliable back-up player. More cap space needs to be spent on the front-row than shelling out for a winger like Fox who can't even catch a cold some games...

Whilst I dont think he will ever pull up trees, thought he caught well under pressure apart from the one time when he called for a ball which should have been Briscoes.

Him and his brother, Jack, have just opened a gym at Hull YPI.
Always thought it would be Jack that made it at Rovers, always seemed to be thd one with the greater natural ability.

| After the Hudds game I thought Fox had lost his pace and his enthusiasm.
Against Bradford he was like a different player. He made one or two howlers like he sometimes does (e.g. not passing inside to Murrell) but overall looked like a very good winger.
I know Welham is carrying an injury right now but when he passed to Fox it was so that the faster man could race away for the try. So why in the Saints cup tie was Fox nowhere to be seen as Welham and only Welham raced back to stop Meli? That's the dilemma.
Fox is a confidence player but when he is feeling good about himself he has far more class than Colbon and possibly David Hodgson. IMO we should have been working out how to get the best out of him and letting Colbon go who after all was the one out of contract.
Having said that we'll save more on Fox's wages than Colbon's. So more to re-invest elsewhere. Difficult juggling act in these days of salary caps and quotas.
