I don't think he gives two tits tbh. Shame really. That result has put millions of people in touch with our sport, which is a great result all on its own.
I'd love to know what the vote split was.

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

| I haven't watched it's irrated me the last few years, very Wendy ball centric.
The right person won, even though I voted for Sir Kev.

First time I've watched it in an age. Only watched it because of the RL exposure.

| I was channel hopping between SPOTY & the darts. If there was a way to combine the 2 (Ally Pally crowd) it would work much better.

Did you get rid of all the voices in your head? Do you now miss them and the things that they said?: |

Doesn't irritate me at all. I never even said he didn't deserve it. I just wondered if there was another reason people thought he did deserve it other than 'he plays rugby league'

Is it worth watching on catch up squire?
Another reason I didn't tune in was because I seriously do not need to relive Wembley.
I used to like it when they'd do little off beat segments of minority sports, like when the GB men's hockey team got a bronze in Seoul and they got Bob Wilson to kit up in a hockey keepers kit with Sean Curly taking penalties against him.

Fair enough. He hasn't just "played" though has he? He has captained his side to win everything available in 2015, plus he's the most successful captain in his club's history. Whether he actually deserves it is not entirely the question, as it becomes hugely subjective. The fact he was put on the shortlist was all the incentive I personally needed to grab an opportunity to push our sport on a national stage.

Gold surely? It prompted the classic Barry Davies commentary"You have to ask where was the German defence, and frankly, who cares?"[/i

It wasn't as football centric as I remembered, more Northern Irish centric, and a few other sports were covered. It wasn't the worst SPOTY I've watched.
The union segment was very nauseating tho. It wouldn't be the Beeb if there wasn't an over dramatic Union section. It's worth a look at how far Gabby Logan was up Dan Carters backside as well.

Ah, my mistake, other than the Johnson affair, my main memory of those Olympics was watching Richie Woodhall come up short against Roy Jones Junior in the youth centre at South Holderness School.

Don't bother watching it on catch up Goose.
Liked the Sigma ft. Ella Henderson song to open up the show, loved the little lad with cerebral palsy triathlete bit who won the Helen Rolleson award and the 5 minutes devoted to showcasing Kevin Sinfield. Also Lizzie Jones singing at the end. 20 minutes of pure class in an otherwise 2 hour borefest. Ferret sexing is more exciting.
I voted for Kev. If the other 278000 who voted for him spread the RL mantra throughout the land as often as I get The Jehovahs Witnesses knocking on my door, we'll get a million votes next year for HKR as team of the year on SPOTY.
Believe!!

He probably deserved a lifetime achievement award tbf, great ambassador for the sport and a very good loser (not that he' had much practice) as well as winner. Think overall it was a fair result and a great bit of publicity for the sport. Think its a bit of a shame Greg Rutherford didn't do better , Olympic, world , European and commonwealth champion is one hell of an achievement for a guy who was classed as a bit of a fluke when he won in London.
I would temper the positives tho that when St's won team of the year it didn't cause too many ripples outside of the sport itself. Shame really as it does seem to be such a difficult task spreading the game even when positives get thrown at the sport.
