Quote: Gordon Gekko "Given the choice and weighing up the pro's and cons i think i'd have taken George over Hodgson. One player on the upgrade with his best years in front of him and one on the downgrade with his best years behind him.

That said Hodgson isn't a bad signing but its not one that would excite me.'"

I too would have had George over Hodgson. I agree he isn't a bad signing but I wasn't that excited when he signed. I don't think he's any better to what we have already got. Another thing is if he is to replace Colbon that would he would play on the right when he normally plays on the left.

We're coming to make some noise!:

He'll get my full support but Wigan and Huddersfield didn't see fit to keep him and while he has more pace than Colby I am not sure he'll have the same impact coming out of his own half. Hope I am wrong and I seriously hope we do not have him lined up for the full backs role.

If any of the rumours are true then I think Lee Smith to full back would be our best option as he has done this at the highest level. Not the greatest full back but better than any other option currently while he can also cover in the centres or on the wing while giving experience to Sheriff during injury spells.

Quicker than you think over open ground is Dodgy & he is a proven finisher. Good signing imo but maybe not for 3 years.

Ahhhhh.........the old multiple choice question. In the past when i wasn't sure of the answer i always tended to pick the one in the middle icon_wink.gif

Alot of Hudds fans give him stick and not much support, yet still puts alot of effort in. I would of given him a year or two because he puts points on the board. A fresh start at his hometown club should give him the boost he needs and no doubt he will get the support he may be lacking here from your fans.

Our lot are sometimes blindly loyal if they like a player and cannot see those who are not up to it, especially those from the promotion team. Nostalgia cannot be part of a selection process and there are several who need to be cut loose. Hodgson will be a favourite if he gets a few tries early on, if he doesn't he might be the obligatory 'scapegoat' for all that is wrong in 2012 (this seasons is currently Netherton)

is this why the matt cook to quins speculation has come from?

in our current style of rugby, with the backs returning the ball from our exit sets, I agree that hodgson is a little flakey.

Theres the rub. To return the ball you have to gather or catch it under pressure. Fox and Colbon are of course both masters of the trade. icon_lol.gif

Bad season, Neil? Announce a signing early, that'll work if your fans aren't knowledgeable or you want to sell them short in the current season. icon_lol.gif
