I've watched rugby league for a lot of years and i've seen enough poor refereeing to know that i'm pizzing into the wind complaining about it too much.

Referees will always make bad calls and bad decisions but to suggest that one particular ref has an agenda against one particular club is just utter nonsense.

Five out of the six teams which played in the big 'derbies' lost today. Saints, no doubt would have had it harder if they hadn't been playing another of the teams which played in a big derby on Friday. I think that statistic says it all. Who did Huddersfield play? None other than the division's bottom club.

Many times we have we moaned that the ref never blows up for offsides, forward passes, etc by Saints, Leeds & the other ex-top sides?

Thaler as been fair to both sides in all the games we have seen him this season.

5 actually - Cudjoe [due to Aspinwall's injury & also a young up-&-coming prospect], Lunt [a young up-&-coming prospect], Wild, Patrick [a young up-&-coming prospect], Mason. Only 2 regular first-teamers in those 5.

Forgot to mention the regulars who were absent: Brown, Aspinwall, Whatuira, Brown, Moore, & Kirmond.

Huddersfield are going to become a problem for Super League the way things are going.

They seem to have a coach who wants to introduce wrestling techniques and spoiling tactics. Or anything else on the borderline of legality that might give his side an edge.

That's very good for Huddersfield but very bad for Super League as a spectacle.

I do believe that last season they wouldn't have got away with half of it. But the stats show that refs are awarding only half the penalties this year than last. Great news for the spoilers.

Sooner or later if this is not stopped every team will follow suit. For the good of Super League as a whole the RFL must instruct referees to clamp down.

I agree completeley, its the holding down and pushing of the offside that really gets me, it makes for a terrible game. Time after time on the scrum Hudds has no interest and broke a number of times.

If the ref had stamped his mark early in the game i think the game would have been alot more of a spectacle, the constant pushing of the rules and incosistency from the ref left us frustrated.

Quins are a team which have a similar style to Hudds, the seem to slow the game down to the point it barely moves.

Fair play to Hudds they desereved the win but as a sporting spectacle it was dismal.
