| Best second row we've had since Newton in my opinion.

He is European so not on the quota but France is counted as a different federation so he would be non federation trained.

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

I don't believe this to be true. Catalans are a member of the rfl and thus part of the same rugby league federation as the rest of super league, meaning any French player brought through by Catalans, or Toulouse count as fed trained players.
It would be incredibly harsh and counter productive to count them otherwise - and would give Catalans a significant advantage in retaining their players...

Quick look on rfl site and it refers to the federation as rlef so you are right. I thought it was this rule that stopped them leaving but it may be the lifestyle

| A massive statement to say he's the best SR since Newton but then there haven't been too many. Still plenty of work to do before he's that high in my estimations but certainly has all of the skills to go above them and surpass what Newton did at the club.
He's also out of contract at the end of this year so we will be free to make him an offer half way through this year and I wouldn't be surprised to see us get him on a 3 year deal.
All depends on how we are looking coach wise come Easter though.

Not really, like you say yourself, not an awful lot of competition.

Just asking here but if he only has this year on his contract then why was his move described as a loan?

einstien said insanity is when a person does the same thing over and over again but expects a different result: |
|
| His contract is with Catalans and he's been loaned to us I presume

| I'm pretty sure Larroyer is contracted to Catalans for 2015.

| The reason that Larroyer was let out on loan was because the Chairman of Catalans has a prejudice in favour of imports, and he had signed too many back row imports -- Zeb Taia, Louis Anderson, and Elliot Whitehead. Plus he has Baitieri (a very good player, born in France to a French mother and bilingual, who is a Franco-Australian hybrid and a crucial link between the imports and the French players) and Mounis, who is a senior stalwart at the club.
From what I have seen Larroyer is playing much better than some of the Catalan back row imports. In fact of all the Catalans back row imports only Englishman Elliot Whitehead is playing as well or better than Larroyer this season.
If Hull KR can sign Larroyer for a long term contract they will have done very well. The guy is top quality.
