I've been quite critical of him so far although I do think he's improved.

If he continues to improve then why not offer him a new improved deal? If he gets better elsewhere then fair enough, that's business.

Apparently, Sandy asked the Board if they could improve the offer, they told him Shannon had made it clear when the first offer was made he would be leaving.

I've spoken to Shannon on a number of occassions and he doesn't come across as being happy and settled at Rovers. He might have looked and sounded chirpy in the bar after yesterdays match, but when I asked him jokingly if he would change his mind, he gave me an emphatic NO WAY!

I have to say his whole demeanour has changed; he reminds me of someone who knows more than he is telling. Thats his prerogative. Maybe, irons in the fire and all that, but one would expect a more light hearted attitude after putting in his best display for Rovers.

I wouldn't say good riddance, but yesterdays 'encounter' didn't give cause for empathy re the 'low key' boo'ing.

Fair play to McDonnell, he appears to be moving on, yet still gave what many are saying was his best performance for the club so far, how long do these morons think he's going to carry on doing this if they carry on to treat him like they did yesterday? It amazes me how people can boo a member of their own team, especially one giving his all for the cause.

He took 1 catch in the 1st half where he basically slid baseball-style to meet the ball and ensure it didn't bounce, absolute class.

Totally agree with this. He's getting better and better IMO and I think we will really struggle to replace him with as good or better next year.

Thought today his defensive positioning was left wanting in the first half especially when Briers was kicking through which led to Ben Weastwood try and no try.
His attacking play is very good.
