Finally Tilse is average, not terrible. People just expect overseas players to be superstars and when they're not it's disappointing. If Tilse was a homegrown player nobody would be on his back like some are. That being said I think we could get someone better in an overseas spot but that's not Tilse's fault.'"
I agree with most of that, Marsh should play every game & only play Kelly if desperate, or play him with Kelly at 6. Chisholm should not get in in front of him. I think Tilse is a good player & we may expect to much of him? or that most British players are better than the Aussies/ our own fans give us credit for. Not many outside the city rated Josh Hodgson but he has ripped the NRL apart from day one. |

Rover 49 I have been watching HULL KR for 50 yrs now i used to go to every game home and away, not now i do not live in hull but watch every game in the super league on sky and more been to wembley more times then you have had hot dinners and what i have seen of him he has come for a holiday he is not the first and will not be the last what i have seen he is rubbish |

I have kept out of the Tilse debate for now, as I felt he needed time to settle. He's not the worst signing the club has made, he's not even the worst prop we have signed in SL. Lets remind ourselves of some vintage names:
Jim Gannon
David Mills
Garrett Crossman
Ervan Tuimuvave
Danny Ward
Ryan O'Hara
All the above signed since 2007, all gash and pinched a living whilst at Craven Park. (maybe not Ervan but a tree-puller he certainly was not). Tilse is better than all of them.
However, is he good enough to use our last overseas spot on? I suspect not.

Add Ryan Bailey as well as Nick Fozzard to the list.
Tilse has played well in patches. Outstanding in our CC victories against Wigan and Warrington. His problem is that he hasn't reproduced his NRL form to date nor has he delivered the contribution of Mick Weyman, whose quota spot he was signed to fill.
If he does return next year, I expect he will step it up for us after a complete preseason.

There was a story (probably not true) that we signed Lindsey Johnson by mistake and in fact it was Peter Johnstone who we wanted and did sign in the end Lindsey spent nearly all season in the A team |
