I reckon we will rest a few players and play at less than full intensity against Crusaders.
Should we? No, ideally. If we had a real choice.
If we were Leeds, Saints or Wigan we wouldn't. But we are not Leeds, Saints or Wigan with their 15 year super league building blocks.
We are a over achieving fledgling Super League club with an infant youth structure only just showing green shoots.
For us resting our best players in a meaningless game (for us) ahead of a massive play off encounter against Hull FC. Well, what would you do?

But only one week between the Crusaders game and the play-offs. Chance to give a couple of younger players some game time and protect anybody who isn't 100%. Still, I'd want to carry some continuity into the play-offs, so wouldn't mess about too much. Hopefully the Leeds-Hull game will be a close, tough, exhausting affair and we get the loser of that - then we'll at least be the fresher team, in theory. |

Fair point, but we have to play our hand. Leeds, triple champions, would be the tougher game, but they will have had a cup final, a tough game against you hopefully and have lost 2 props for the season including the England captain. At some point that has got catch up with them, IMO - might not be against us though. And having beaten them twice, your law of averages theory works against us.
I half fancied Hudds without Mason, but they look to be in fine form.
That leaves you, which makes me more nervous as a mod than a fan.  That'd be a massively tough game too, especially if you get Long back firing on all cylinders - but it is the play-offs after all, it isn't meant to be easy.

I think you're overcomplicating it. You get Leeds, you lose. You get us, you win. So the latter.

Although i appreciate it may not be in the spirit of the game my hope is that Rovers send a team consisting of any ex-players who travel across on Crowns coach or fans who get drawn out of a hat in a raffle with all proceeds going towards the North Stand fund.
We cant afford to pick up injuries like we did last season at Wakey in round 27.

Rest players against Crusaders and I feel sure we'll be going into the playoffs on the back of a defeat.
Nope. Play the strongest team we can and hope to build some form.
