People that disagree are either dumb, dillusional or just completely blinkered to the point of extremism. I'd just like to point out also that I have disagreed with a few of Zods posts in the past but that one is bob on.'"

Quote: General Zod. "You're blind to the reality of what a club has to do to build something that's sustainable; unless of course sustainability isn't a concern to you, then I think I get a broad picture of where you may be coming from.

What are your expectations of the club? - Do you want something sustainable or are you more about the here and now?'"

Sustainability is very important as Hudgell has said, and that the directors will no longer underwrite losses, I think. As long as the club is breaking even therefore on current salary cap spend, it's a very sensible approach, albeit contingent on the best young players being retained.

No arguments from me Zod. Remember, however, that sport is a cyclical thing and the day will dawn (as it has many times in the past) when the positions are reversed and all the FC fans will be on here in large numbers to give you grief. In the meantime well done yesterday Rovers and enjoy the moment. Some tough games ahead over the next month to give you something to think about.

I'm not giving up. It'll be our turn to win a derby again soon enough. Probably 2014 or 2015. Exciting. At least now there will be no grounds to doubt my preview of the Magic Weekend game, as I've been 100% validated here.

Please don't attempt to lecture me about sustainability, I could write a thesis on it. If you think that it's an either/or menu when looking at long term versus short term then you wouldn't last 5 mins. Lets see how the club plan for the future on dwindling gates if the focus on this season isn't maintained. One win against a shockingly bad FC side doesn't erase the memories of the recent trip to Bradford and what was witnessed there. Our coach is out of his depth and the occasional papering over the cracks doesn't fool me.

I got staggeringly drunk after the Bradford game and have successfully managed to erase it.

Just a little tip.

Ah right, I see, the academic type are you? writing theses and the like? icon_lol.gif

A thesis on sustainability in an academic context wouldn't really be relevant when dealing in the context of creating sustainability of a Super League playing squad over several years so let's bring the debate back to rugby league.

You've clearly stated that the short term is everything otherwise you wouldn't be able to prepare for the long term which I can understand (even though the board have already stated that their strategy is sacrificing short-term signings for long term development of players), what league position would you say is an acceptable minimum?

Notice rovers once again didn't get presented with the Clive Sullivan memorial trophy yesterday, it becomes obsolete when Rovers win for some reason.

Quote: gingerspice "Wow a decent FC fan u do exist To be fair I hate rovers but credit were its due, we had plenty of chances to score but because we had no creativity and rovers defended well a mix of that and we could not simply answer it, us fc fans can't moan about playing second rowers or loose forwards at half back look at Jon wilkin at saints second rower doing a cracking job leading them around the field and Jason smith use to lead us around the field and he was loose forward so we should of been better whiting was originally a 6 when he joined us and Westy has the skills to play half back just simply wasn't our day and was rovers simple as that, lol rant over lol
