The fact a suicide bomber is willing to give his/her life for something they believe so strongly about is often very foreign to the British public but I understand their reasons doesnt mean I support their actions.'"
Seriously?

I rest my case.
When you believe and love something strongly enough you will die for the cause, they have their reasons for what they do and as brutal and immoral as it may be their inner strength is not to be questioned.
How many would die for their kids? I dont think there are too many parents that wouldnt because you love them and want to protect them.
Back to the Ben case, he wanted to protect a friend whom he obviously cares about and was willing to take the consequences.
All of this doesnt mean I defend Bens actual actions or support him or any other convicts I just have an understanding something I feel there is little of from certain posters on these forums.

| Psychopaths are mentally ill people, suicide bombers are completely healthy religeous believers.
My point is that the British public find it difficult to comprehend that someone could die for something they believe in, we live in a world where material things far outweigh beliefs where as these "psychopaths" do not want or need a 50" Plasma or a PS3 they are quite happy to sit with their holy book and pray to who/what they believe in.
However, this "belief" or "religion" does not excuse their actions just like Bens previous and current jobs do not excuse his actions and is why he and they deserve to be punished.

| Must point out that a suicide bomber can only be punished if caught before they've blown him/herself up!!! Just before someone picks up on that one!

Sorry for the thread drift but in my book anybody willing to kill themselves in order to also kill innocent people is mentally ill.

Your opinion is shared by many and totally understandable. I would however just ask you to read this research done by Nottingham Uni - research.nottingham.ac.uk/newsre ... spx?id=344
It too is just an opinion based on research however there have been instances where terrorist cells have used the mentally ill to carry out attacks.
The main thing from this is that EVERYONE has a different way of thinking whether it be from this extreme right down to should you slap a naughty child. Ben has a different thought pattern to that of say Gordon, Gordon has a different thought pattern to mine...etc we dont have to agree with each other but a healthy understanding of why someone thinks differently sometimes makes all the difference when judging an action.

Surely you have never played rugby then if you have not heard of the law of one in all in?

| You "love" Rovers differently to that of say your children, parents and other close family and friends. A gun is pointed at your child you'd probably stand in front of that weapon to save your child, however you wouldnt die for Rovers, it would upset you but you wouldn't sacrafice yourself for it.
What a lot of religeous believers have is a love that outweighs their love for their family and friends and some believe that if they die for their cause their afterlife will be so great it outweighs the cost they have paid in this life.
As for the unwritten rule of "one in all in" and "put them down and make sure they stay down or they'll get up and do it to you" maybe you havent heard of it but its out there and not one just shared by Longhill folk. I havent played for any team that hasn't used the term "one in all in" and it doesnt just count on the pitch either.

| Quote: Gordon Gekko "Bet the people that murdered that kid the other day at the deep thought exactly the same
With the help of a mate and went back for more when he had so obviously caused enough damage.
Your obvious dislike for 'this Kyle kid' clearly clouds your judgment, are you seriously saying he asked for it???
Maybe you should listen more to sensible people instead of blind eyed fanatics. Nick you normally post some interesting views on the game itself, but these last few posts show how immature you really are and i cannot believe they let people with your views coach kids.'"
Nick which team do you coach, I like your views and would love my kids been coached by a coach who lives in the real world
