Having viewed the incident numerous times I'm beginning to think he was drunk. Or that the 'tracking the wrong player' excuse is covering up a deeper misunderstanding of the laws.

Green could have only been onside if the kicker had run in front of him to play him onside or if Eden would have touched the ball. Where you conjured up this 10 metre rule is as baffling as Ganson's decision

The thing about tracking the wrong player is that having tracked him, you'd notice your mistake and go back and track the right player, surely?
As far as excusing ignorance with stupidity, I'm not sure it saves many blushes.

I still don't understand why Thaler didn't tell his boss to re-look at the decision before confirming it was a try. This surely has to be the way forward before we get more unbelievable decisions like this. Everyone knew it wasn't a try but it was allowed to stand. It was nothing to do with technology it was plainly wrong but could easily have been prevented from standing.

If that decision had been made at the KC or Craven Park with a bigger partisan crowd it could have caused trouble.

Have just watched the incident again and as Danny kicks the ball there is a maximum of 3 players offside. Green & Lynch stood together to his left and one another to his right (possibly Pitts who is virtually in line with Danny). As the play moves on after the kick Lynch & Pitts make little attempt to move forward and are behind Danny all the way, which only leaves Green to track.

Having reviewed the first couple of seconds, the only question remaining was to track Green's position and did Eden touch the ball. The answer to both these questions was fairly easy to deduce. It's not as if he had a multitude of options to explore. Only Ganson knows his reasoning behind this and his official excuse simply doesn't wash in the above scenario.

I find it as unfathomable as everyone else (on both sides), but you may not be too surprised to learn that I didn't lose too much in the way of sleep last night
