Very well put stan, even during the course of a game we can go from playing some of the best rugby I've seen to being totally back. In fact bradford, catalan and Hudds games prove that point.

Your beliefs are biased because we are Hull FC, you should have watched us play against Leeds our display was far from average, also out of interest since Salford beat Huddersfield do you consider them average as well ?

So the crux of the matter is in selection of which matches should be used to gauge how average a team is.
eg.
v Rovers - does not meet criteria, disregard.
v Wigan - most certainly does not meet criteria, disregard.
v Leeds - will do nicely - hey we're a top team!

Who said any-one was a top team ? Believe me we do not have to be a top team to be better than you lot..

They really aren't based on it being FC, I'll give u Leeds but they are pretty shocking at the mo. and are struggling away in 7th. We beat Hudds and yet i still dont rate us. Fact is with FC they don't have enough fire power to compete at the top. you defend well but the better teams will still put points on you.

In all honesty do you see yourselves as top 4 / 5 material? if not it puts you in a pot with a number of other teams who will in all realty fight it out for 6-8 and the follow on by getting beaten by one of the good teams come play off time.

Having watched every game and with all the squad available yes without a doubt, I think we will finish top 6 though. Last year under Agar I would agree in reality it would not matter where we finish under Agar, however Gentle is a totally different kettle of fish so it will be interesting.

I dont think that there is much between Hull and Rovers as saturdays game showed and as i think the final league table will reflect. The Hull players certainly seem to have bought into Peter Gentles philosophies quicker than Rovers have Sandercocks but i think that an absence of a top full back or off half will stop them being realistic contenders this year. Keeping Manu fit is essential. Rovers have far better pivots but we dont look a cohesive enough unit to trouble the big sides this year.
In short neither of us will win anything.

I think that's fair comment. I believe next year we'll all be in a better position to judge as each coach has his own choice of players and not the ones that were left by Agar and Morgan.
