| Are people genuinely upset about a man shouting cock-a-doodle-doo?
I can't say I've ever heard it but Jesus, watch the rugby, not the oddballs around you!
As it happens my favourite Craven Park wailers are the guy who shouts 'FIIIIIIIVE' and Noddy Holder.

I know, crazy right?
I like it when he shouts "how many's that, ref?" In an angry voice, like it's the refs fault he's lost count...

| I can't help but think I'm missing out on the match day experience.
What do people think the club are going to do about it, if all nutters were banned from sporting events in Hull there would be some pretty low gates!

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

| I don't really watch much of the rugby, I haven't seen this Noddy Holder character, I'll have to look out for him.
There's a few good mullets knocking about.

| The Monster Raving Looney Party should do a recruitment drive in the East Stand. Some of the major oddballs are the ones who have always been there, and they are harder to pick out since SL.
Big Bird was my favourite (so called becaue he spent the entire match loudly counting tackles, each one pronounced in a more excited fashion). At least twice a game he would lose count and shout "how many's that ref, seventeen?".
Bless him.

| Greg Eden.
People are getting their pants in a twist over the contract, worried about Huddersfield. Is this really a problem? The way I see it, he progresses and becomes the player we hope, do we really believe only Huddersfield will be interested? What about Wigan? Tomkins will e playing Union by then, surely. May also link back up with Brown at Saints.
Oh sorry, have I scared you all?

| Last week the other forum had a thread about Mr Cockerel. Madness.
Can't say it bothers me, he does come across as a bit of a Richard - but each to their own. We have plenty of other 'cocks' in general who spout frep and behave worse than this guy. Mr Cockerel did sound quite amusing @ Widnes though, as his 'calls' were clearly audible on RH. Imagine many listeners were thinking 'WTF?'
Season card sales. Disappointing, but I can't say I'm surprised. I heard various people saying in general "I'm not gerrin' a pass next year" etc. This on the same general apathy I felt the season before last too. With the economy and Hull folk in general it doesn't take too long before people lose interest and do something else. Look @ City ... enjoyed their success and pulled in many new fans along the way. Two seasons of average stuff and their renewals plummeted. Now they're playing some of the best stuff in years and in with a chance of getting promotion and these lost fans are not returning. We must stop this from happening to us -where possible.
Clearly the economy in the area is really bad, and you only look @ Hull FC who did a vigorous marketing campaign and fell short of their target (and maybe ended up short of their total against last year - not sure on that tho'). So maybe you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. But in all truth I don't think the club did much about stopping the potential slide. Delaying pass sales + scaremongering media comments - can't have helped the cause. Give people a chance to forget about your product and there's a chance they'll do this and spend any disposable income on something else. I remember reading a post from FET (think) quoting someone (I assume) associated with Rovers on the subject of 'season pass' sales. Along the lines of "existing pass holders were not the issue, and new ones were ". I can't help but feel the club were so out of touch with the existing ones, if they genuinely believed this. That and the notion that there would attract up to 2000 new season pass holders paying something like 20% more than the 'given' existing season pass holders were been asked.
Rant over.
PS - It's clearly the fault of the Cockerel on reflection

So isn't the West stand part of the build going to be completed? Seems strange as it's been protected from the weather for some time. I remember AS commenting that it wouldn't be a problem now.
Having stood in the East stand for the England game, for me, I'd be more put off by the idiots that fail to see you have young children and still decide to stand bang in front of them, instead of some guy making cockerel sounds.'"
The West of the build may well be protected from the weather and so may be completed first but we are talking about the full build and not just 1 part of it.

Kathleen, who is a very dedicated fan, wasn't telling everyone to shut up she was telling Gwyllim to shut up and move on when he kept pestering Neil for more information re the potential investment, even when he said there was nothing more to add. Mr Lloyd then tried to drag more questions about it out of the audience who thankfully didn't respond. Well done everyone!
Re drop in pass sales, it's hardly surprising is it. Not everyone has 'lost interest' many people simply couldn't afford the outlay all in one go. With the increase in prices in practically everything rugby has to move down the list of priorities for some, especially families, it's a bit different paying a couple of hundred pound for one pass co buying for a family of four, especially with increased prices for 'youths'. Those who didn't buy a pass will no doubt put even more into the club by paying on the gate.
Talk of paying for passes over a 10 month period is positive and will hopefully get a few fans back. I suggested at a steering group meeting that it be introduced this year to enable fans to start paying in for next year's passes. Other fans suggested you could do this yourself, put a few bob away each week, yes indeed you could and alot already do, but if you get that unexpected washing machine breakdown, extra high bill or need a new pair of shoes for the kids you'd dip into it obviously, whereas if the money was secured at Rovers you wouldn't be able to plus it's revenue nearly all year round for the club. All personal choice of course.

Yeah, and I've never agreed with you before, but, I'm sure I made a post about just the seating area being completed? Fell on death ears I think.
I've some points I'd like someone to raise at the next forum.
• Ladies toilets, particularly in the East stand, are terrible and block 5 mins before kick off every home game. This is the reason Dumette and her friends stopped attending.
• Baby changing, exists in the ladies in Happy Poole? There is nothing anywhere else, if there is I haven't found it. I've had to use the floor in the gents on a couple of occasions.
• People standing at the front of the East stand, the entire length of the hoardings is 2 or 3 people deep, it really restricts the view and ruins matchday experience, if the capacity of the stand is for people to be 'in the stand', can we move them?
If I think of anything else, I'll be sure to add it.

Kathleen may well be a dedicated fan but that doesn't give her the right to speak to anybody including Mr Lloyd in such a rude and aggressive manner.

She was rude. I don't care how "dedicated" she is, she didn't have the right to attempt to close out a subject on behalf of others.

I didn't say it was surprising, worrying was the word I used. Crowds will fall below 6500 on occasions this year. More cash to be found elsewhere.
