Shopping area( St Stephens, Prinny quay)
Low cost housing.
There is a lot of great things about Hull, the best being the people.'"
but that doesn't make for 'good' tv though , but evidently Phil and Kirsty mincing around bemoaning the fact that they can't get a decent cafe latte does.
But hey ho , as Paul Weller sang ' That's Entertainment'.

| As anyone would know who has lived away from the city or travelled to other places there are far worse places than our city to live.

| People get the politicians they deserve - they vote them in. The council reflects the population, sadly. This town could be wonderful. I've lived all over the world and seen far worse. The "sink" estates in Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield are far worse than Hull. Parts of Sydney and London make Hull look positively delightful. One thing constantly puzzles me, why, when we have a brilliant waterfront do we not develop it? Believe me other cities around the world would love to have this facility. Another question for the politicians and citizens to answer.

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Chocolate River, or Phil's old place?
Can't think of either of them being described as "brilliant".

| Don't forget the patties!
As said the people are the best thing about Hull, once you get over the accent and apparent "roughness" you won't find a kinder more helpful and friendly group of people anywhere. Yes we have scroats, doesn't everywhere?, but on the whole it is the down to earth folk of Hull (and the patties!) I miss the most.

| I have friends who went to uni in Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham. All of them have said that living conditions on these cities' big estates are far worse in most mentioned and about the same in the others. Same goes for the nice areas when put in comparison with Hull. Where they all beat us hands down is the night life and the shopping.
These cities, like Hull, have scroats and far more of them then we do!!!!! My friend who went to uni in Liverpool says she would much rather settle in Hull then there. The others didn't mind either way. So, from the conversations I have had with others, there is hardly compelling evidence that we live in the worst place in Britain, as some like to name it!!!!!!! Far from it!!!!!!
Hull gets a lot of negativity it does not deserve, o.k some is valid, but I like Hull and do not agree that it is not a nice place to live.
