BLACK AND WHITES East is East,West is West, and never the twain shall meet. -------------------------------- "I" said the sparrow "With my bow and arrow.":33934.gif

Quote: GraftonRed "Here it is, the day only 4 years ago wasn't even really a dream. When we secured our place in S/L we where expected to make a speedy return to the lower divisions, some quarters even suggesting us not winning a game, and with the impending franchise system. no place in S/L.
Fast forward to now, here we are at the begining of a journey, a journey few would have believed possible even 2 years ago. The first season was a struggle with only the odd good result, but we enjoyed every moment of every game, and we managed it, we managed to stay in the elite competition.
A plan was put in place, survive, consolodate, challenge, a plan many saw as a pipe dream, a plan many thought unachievable, a plan many expected to fail, a plan that Neil Hudgell, Justin Morgan and everyone involved in this great club believed in. Now no one can dispute that the plan outlined has come to fruition, we are indeed now challenging for our place in history, challenging doesn't mean winning, it means exactly that, challenging.
Whatever happens during our first foray in the playoffs, i will remember what we where watching 5 yrs ago, i will enjoy this journey to it's end, wether it be short lived or fruitful, as i can see many more journeys ahead, each going further, each getting better.
So weather your on the terrace at leeds or unable to attend and are watching on tv, when the lads enter the pitch, just remember where we were this time 4yrs ago and how far we have come, lets get behind the lads who have took on this journey and back them with all our heart and all our soul as only Hull KR fans can, no matter what the result.
A new era is here
We are Hull KR and we are back'"

Well our first foray in the playoffs had the result most people had predicted, leeds are a very very good side and all credit to them, they showed us what we have to do to continue our progress. Tonight a place in the finals seems as far away as a place in superleague did 4 years ago. Although i came away feeling.......well not sure what my feelings where, but i did come away knowing we had been in a game against the current best side in s/l and no one can critisize us for the effort put in by our team. The result aside, the pleasure at being involved in such a prestigious competition, against a side of the calibre of leeds makes supporting this great sport of ours all the more worth while. We, as they say, "have another bite of the cherry next week" which in its self leaves me in no doubt as to how far we have come, but the result tonight shows me we still have a have a lot learn, but we are getting there.

I've had a quick glance at some other threads tonight and i know this probably is'nt the thread to say it, but it's great to see the fans of all clubs pulling together over chev (well almost all fans, you always get one) and i would like to especially congratulate all the leeds fans for their applause of chev.......i'm very proud to be a hull kr fan tonight, but more so a Rugby League fan

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle. Frederick Douglas:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_30596.jpg

Think HKR have made tremendous progress in such little time. One for the statisticians out there...from clubs promoted to Super League how many times have they reached the play offs and how many seasons did it take. For the record i know Wakey have reached them for the first time this season and didn't Widnes make them after a season or two.

Catalans finished 3rd in their 3rd season in SL, (having also been in the Challenge Cup final in their second season. icon_wink.gif )

Don't know what you mean about Wakefield - certainly not their first time in the play-offs.

We first entered the playoffs in 2004. We beat Hull FC at the KC Stadium and went on to narrowly lose against Wigan at the JJB the week after 18 - 14.
