Not a bad crowd really, but as mentioned still short of the break even figure which must be of concern?
How many season passes have been sold in total?...even with all the hype of Mason there can't of been that many 'walk up' supporters?

2 Home games against teams with little or no away support to date, 2500+ extra fans through the gates...about 40 grand more in revenue....it was never going to happen overnight.
You'll be fine......you may not make the 10k average this year, but you'll go close

Hope so, despite the banter Rovers being around is good or the city.
Can't see 10k being averaged any time soon in all honesty, a break even figure of 9k would be more realistic, things need to improve off the field more than on it to make the difference IMO.

Quote: gutterfax "yep...I had a mate text me from London the other day asking who this Mason geezer was...apparently he had 5 pages of coverage in the Evening Standard, an 8 page colour supplement in METRO and the whole back page of the FT
If he'd have read the article then surely he'd have known who Mason was. Bit daft having to ring you when he has the information in front of him.

The East stand is the place to be for a lot of supporters. Demand for this stand is very high and when supporters can't get into the East stand because it sells out they don't bother with other alternatives. When the East stand extension is complete in a couple of months time I think we as a club can seriously look at crowds between 9-10k on a regular basis. I had three mates from work that would have gone yesterday if I could have got them in the East stand with myself.

I was dissapointed with the attendance yesterday, and I think it speaks volumes about the lack of quality spectator accomodation at Craven Park. The North Stand was less than 40% occupied, the South Stand wasn't even open. For such a big game (well, event - the game itself was a run of the mill fixture) I was anticipating at least 9000, with the possibility of the South Stand being pay on the day for a tenner.

Spin it one way, it's dissappointing. Spin it another, its 1,400 up on last season. I personally don't care as I got to see a hugely impressive debut from the big fella.

If these people don't turn up now against the likes of Wigan, St's, Leeds etc etc because they can't get in the East Stand would the lure of being in the East Stand be enough for them to turn up against the lesser teams?....I doubt it to be honest.
Hull fans get slated for not wanting to pay for the South Terrace, yet in the same reckoning 1k Rovers fans at least do it every home game!!

Agreed, but the only slight difference is the 1,000 Rovers fans are 8,000th in the queue when it comes to committment to the club, you would expect your 1,000 to be the front of the queue.

Don't really want this one today, we should save it for early June. icon_biggrin.gif

A valid point, what about the North Stand though?...hardly, if ever full apart from derby day.
Can't honestly see 1000+ turning up week in week out just because they can get in the East Stand, sure somebody posted earlier that there were around 100 East Stand tickets still available on Saturday.
