| Well the gap has narrowed already, as it had us down as 12th with the neighbours obviously 1st last time the subject was discussed.

| An FC fan on another site posted after Hudds went 6-0 up how he thought Rovers were going to get walloped and he was going to "enjoy every minute of it". That went well

| No arguments from me after that . Saints are a very good side. Plenty of speed and their 2nd rowers bossed us.At least we don't go into the Derby complacent? Not the end of the world but shows the gap between mid/lower table and top.Big week now for the team and coach.

| Class told in the end.
I thought we tried hard, were competitive for much of the game by they were just much better than us. Sounds like a season ending injury to Lawler, poor kid has no luck at all.

Was that a real danger?!
I’m trying not to think about it tbh - I feel about as optimistic for this one as Craig Sandercock sounded in his pre-match interviews.
So... is it starting to look like 4 from 5 having to run the gauntlet of the middle 8s this time around? Ourselves, Widnes, Salford, Hudds and Catalans? Catalans doing their bit to improve the chances of 14 teams in SL in 2019, though they remain very slim imo. McNamara won’t survive many more defeats, mind you.

| Losing to Saints isn't so awful, we did pick up some very worrying injuries to key players though.
However we do have a raft of players to return against Hull including our first choice front row of Scruton, Lunt, Jewitt which is possibly....only possibly...more important than the loss of McGuire, Heffernan and the desperately unlucky George Lawler.
We'll select from whoever is available and give a good account of ourselves.

| We all know the Derby will be tight, if Lunt is back that will be a huge boost, Mcgure out will really hurt you as he really makes the difference in your attacking structure. We have bee really hot and miss, hopefully Houghton will be back, as we have really missed him.

Widnes look very poor on paper but their home advantage is significant. But yes 4 from that 5 will be in the middle 8. Widnes picking up that Leeds win may be key? Derby wise I'm no more or less confident than I was as us losing to top side and them beating bottom can't be read hugely into. The injuries are a problem as Lawler looked class thus far.Heff can be covered by Salter or less likely VaiVai. Salter is solid enough.Mcguire is a blow and Marsh/Atkins is what it is? Quinlan had a good game again would be tempted to put him in half's and Dagger /Moss/Marsh at FB? Agree with everyone's good wishes for Lawler and it's very tough for him. Also thought Donno had gone again at one point .Those 2 lads have had terrible luck.
