| I hear talk amongst many Rovers supporters suggesting there's 'shed loads' of salary cap available, and maybe there is, but what I don't hear is how bringing in high-earning players has the potential of upsetting the 'balance'.
Its well-documented Rovers players took pay-cuts and some are on 'peanuts' (Heffernan), so to bring in, say. Blake Green (or the like) on mega-contracts wouldn't be fair or right, unless it was agreed with the existing squad.
It is going to be interesting to see how Rovers negotiate this dilemma.

Bringing in quality of the likes of Green (absolutely no chance btw) on big bucks isn't an issue as he is demonstrably miles better than what we have. Its when you bring in players of no better quality on bigger money when you have an issue

| Whatever we do, we better do it quick. Leigh and Widnes are already throwing cash around and got players in (even if they are dubious in Chase's case). The last thing we want is to not match them come the 8s.

| Yes I agree Sheens has the reputation of being astute but logically if we are bringing in new talent now is the time or at least next fortnight.Donaldson Marsh Quinlan we will do well to see again this campaign. I still feel Moss can be a great full back for us given chance really like his attitude and can forgive his hit n miss start for us,seen enough to have the opinion he has capacity to go much further than many in our squad.in basest terms if we hope to get back into superleague it will be at the expense of Widnes or Leigh.both have strengthened and probably will do more so. Can't see Huddersfield in mpg despite poor showing.Saints look vulnerable but think they will win enough home games to avoid middle 8.places 11 and 12 are probably the only real chance of relegation. Working on principle we finish top of championship 4 home game should see us in MPG at worst.i don't fancy us on current squad to win that game .1 big unplayable forward and a fast smart half and we can finish top 3 and avoid the pain

| In the Aussie press (I will try to find link as I cant seem to atm) we have signed at least one forward. We had a contract for T-Rex Williams and was due to come on board in the coming weeks but has done his ACL so that's a no go. the article said about Williams, plus another forward so I'm guessing we will push for the "other" forward asap due to Williams' injury

I could of believed the Williams rumour if we maintained super league status, he's not the player he was by all accounts seems to be when he can be bothered to put the effort in? Hopefully the other forward is a big mother trucker.... leigh have 'strengthen?' Only player I saw them announcing was Fleming? From saints?

And he has to be on of the worst players on Saints' books, he is turd. Minns and Heff are far superior. I reckon with Tim Sheens' knowledge of the NRL second grade, hopefully he can unearth a hidden gem, would like to see Luke Page over here, reckon he could have a similar impact that Sam Moa did when he came over 1st time.

| From what I've seen this season championship wise the only ones to stand out were Adam Tangata from Halifax, James Bentley from Bratfud, Will Maher for Batley and Mark Mexico at Sheffield. Out of them only Tangata fits the bill in terms of what type of player we need.
I would love to sign George Burgess on loan for the middle 8s, although there would be more chance of Tim Sheens fingering the Queen.

The dark side where linked with tangata not long back, could still do with maybe another 'old head' but realistically we aren't going to get one from the nrl, Page would fit the bill, still like the look of big papa David hala but he would probably be a waste of a quota?

| Not seen it with Tangata, looked bang average when we played them and in the televised cup game, we have better already.

Which one? Todd, Justin or Brian?
I know which one I'd rather have.
