I got slated for that and guess what I was RIGHT so why do I need to back my words up and put bull on here. Yes Stan was good when he 1st played for us and no one is denying that but IMO he should never of come back either as a player or a coach. Like every other player who leaves our club we owe them nothing and they will of been payed good money by us to play. But ask the main sponsors of our club about him and you will find out some truths.'" ]
My comment here doesn't pertain to Stanley Gene. Perhaps I'm wrong and if so I apologise but I must respectfully ask - do you speak from experience -- putting yourself in the firing line match after match to get literally pummelled by players the size of Earl Crabtree etc. time and time again, of getting knocked sometimes senseless in full contact training day after day. It's usually the flashy backs who have been paid the "good money" you speak of, many of the forwards - those putting their bodies, their brains and even their futures on the line are often not paid the salaries some assume, the fortunate ones make enough to pay their mortgage and feed their families just like all the rest of us, but we don't wake up on a Monday morning feeling like we've been hit by a bus. I'm not trying to suggest sympathy is in order, just a little respect for those who have given their all for the love of the Club and the fans.

[iDemonstrably[/i true. Burden of proof is on the defendant in a libel case. So yeah, it does fly close to the wind, but I guess there'd be some wriggle room about what the OP considers to be a 'drinking culture' - he's not made a specific allegation. But I'm not a lawyer, and I don't want to pay for one, so if people can tread careful with stuff they heard offa fella, it's for the best.

| Stan should have played in the last game of the season before he retired I don't know why Morgan didn't play him it was a nothing game it would have been a fitting send off instead he walked on the pitch in a suit at the end and that didn't seem right

You mean the last regular season round at home? He hadn't played for weeks before that, was he even fit? If not, I presume it was his form or time finally catching up with him.
He did play the following week at Wakefield, in round 27, and then at Leeds in the play-offs.
I know some felt he should have played against Wigan, but although we got nowt out of it, it definately wasn't a nothing game.

Ah! So you're the one responsible for the drinking culture!

| Years ago now when Stanley left the first time my then small daughter was heartbroken.
In truth we all were. In those dark years of administration and a rank rubbish team Stanley was a genuine hero. Strength of a bull, blistering pace and a humble man who talked of his new salubrious bedsit on Holderness Road.
East Hull hero was something to be.
That a man with not too much English from the most remote of places in the world could become a Hull KR legend is quite remarkable.
When he left that first time I had the pleasure to meet him and asked if he would maybe write a few words for my daughter. He responded with a five page letter in his (by then) immaculate handwriting in which he explained his love of the club and his wish to return one day.
My daughter is quite grown up now and naturally the trappings of her younger days largely discarded. Her letter from Stanley Gene she guards safely a treasured possession.
Roger Millward is the uiltimate HKR legend but in a period of many legends. Stanley kept us believing single handed.
Stanley is our Winston Churchill. His good was so good that the before & after pale into insignificance.

Stepping into Roversmad shoes for while.
We were - not 'we was'.
Paid- not 'payed'.
Finally it's 'Should have' NOT 'Should of'
