Horse. Hudgell has virtually single-handedly kept our club afloat. FC fans hatred of him clouds any comment on his stewardship of Rovers.'"
I'll see you horse and raise you a bullshine. So Mr. Hudgell, a very successful business man for many years and someone who's been involved in the game for a long time, single-handedly keeping the club afloat as you say, has let people take the pi$$ out of him? Whether I like him or not, and I actually think he's very good for our game, is irrelevant and just a made up convenient excuse for you to justify ignoring what's going on.

You are entitled to your opinion, but please don't try passing it off as fact.
My opinion on the hand.........

Do you not have an opinion on the thought that a successful business man who's been in the game for a long time has allowed people to take the pi$$ out of him? Tad naive if so, don't you think?

Of course I have an opinion. He saw what was going on and put limited faith in his coach to address it. As it became clear that Sandercock didn't have the man-management skills to deal with the issue, he took action. How that reconciles with your version of "taking the out of him" only you know, but it's how I have seen it unfold over the summer. As someone who deals with difficult people problems on a daily basis, and has to negotiate the employment law minefield, I know that things always look easier to fix from a distance.

You're having a go at somebody for pushing a predictable agenda [iannually[/i? www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Analysis ... story.html
There'll be fall-outs from time to time. I have sympathy for Gleeson's situation, but my sympathy for him as a bloke is diminishing. I daresay he'll get over that, but still.
Anyhow, the q&a. Interesting to hear Hudgell's thoughts, even if it just mostly confirmed what most had thought. The bit about CS playing up our relative poverty is interesting to me, because I did notice that he and NH put very different spins on that stuff. In fairness to CS, NH does say that we're of a similar size to Cas and Widnes, and I suspect CS meant we don't have the resource of, say, Leeds and Wigan. But, it certainly wasn't the most inspiring rallying cry, as NH points out.

Happened four years on the bounce that he's bemoaned player attitudes and asked for them to have the same 'passion' as the fans. 3 years under Sandy too, shocking that it took him that long to act on the shortcomings of Craig others had spotted 18 months earlier.

Not sure bringing Hull FC into this is relevant, especially as i've not once mentioned we are in any way innocent of such things.

One man's "shocking" is another man's "supportive". Other than the obvious answer, why the huge interest?

Fair point - first rule of rhetoric is that it easier to attack than defend.
I guess you already knew that though.

I find it amusing that someone can be so immune from even polite criticism. I reckon if some of you caught him in bed with your wives, you'd polish his shoes while you waited for him to finish.

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.
Frederick Douglas:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_30596.jpg |

| Hudgell has made some appointments that with hindsight have been poor.
On balance as far as the Hull Kingston Rovers club is concerned he rescued us from at worst, death and at best, at the time, perpetual lower league survival.
2006 and 2007 where massive for us, and most of that is down to Hudgell.
If we hadn't got up and stayed up I don't think we'd have done it for another generation at least, if ever.
See Huddersfield for how it is to be a club that loses two or three generations of fans.
We were nearly dead, Hudgell saved us.
Forgive me and all other Rovers fans for holding him in high regard.
