The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

You may be right, and they'll certainly be projects, possibly starting out at Gateshead (it is just quota players that are excluded from that, Sheldon). But 'tiny' PNG has a population more than 20 times that of Samoa and Tonga combined (though there's a big Polynesian diaspora, of course). It's a good bit more populace than New Zealand. RL is their national sport and national wealth is more an issue in developing rather than producing talent. I'd be pretty surprised if we don't register them, to say the least. Squad numbers in the 20s perhaps. Unless you've been told different?'"
Not sure, wasn't Kylie Leuluai not allowed to play? Not sure of his passport tbh.

I'm genuinely apologetic if I gave even the slightest suggestion of disparaging PNG as a nation that isn't where I was coming from.
It's their Rugby League competition that I meant was tiny and by any measure it really is.
Playing in the PNG comp is like playing for Dockers, quality and fitness wise. If that's all you've ever played in...well you're a Stanley Gene project.
You think Sandercock signed these players? Give over!
Stanley has picked out a couple of hopefuls who might help him out at Gateshead. They won't even be single registered never mind dual registered if that answers Sheldons question.
There's no way we are going to waste 2 non fed spots on these guys. For goodness sake!

Surely can't be as bad as you're making out to make the png squad who's national sport is rl? Add this to the quotes that have said that maki could even make it in the nrl suggests that at least one of them aren't bad

| If these 2 PNG players are Stanleys projects why have we as a club said we have signed them? With no mention of Gateshead?

I've no doubt that they were signed on Gene's recommendation and may well turn out for Gateshead. But if that is the realistic limit of our ambition for these players, it'd be a pretty pointless move.
I doubt a BARLA team could go toe to toe with France for 80 mins, even with 3 or 4 NRL players chucked into the mix. Fitness can be improved pretty easily. Adrian Lam (admittedly not a completely unbiased judge, but certainly an expert one) thinks Maki is capable of playing NRL.
With the flow of talent reversed from Australia and more non-fed spots seemingly available, it doesn't seem such a waste. How many more overseas players are we likely to bring in to fill those spots? Now ET is gone we have one (assuming it is 7) for if we sign Poore, for example. The indications are that recruitment is nearly done.

| From what I have been told Enoch and Francis are contracted to Rovers, whether they end up on dual registration only time will tell, and that decision won't be made until after pre-season concludes, and that decision will rest with CS.

Expanding on your above point, coming over to the UK to play in the 2nd division would be pointless when they both had the option to play in the Queensland Cup next team (read Roopys comments on this).
And, yes, as far as I know Justin Poore will be the last of the overseas contingent, although there are two more signings still in the pipeline; Cockayne and maybe a Championship forward.
The Cockayne deal is expected to be finalised before the start of pre-season (11 November), and the Championship forward is a player CS ran the rule over last season but the Board pulled the plug. From what I am hearing it might be Hughes from Donny and if it is I know Cookie rates him very highly. I also know CS and Chessie went to see Sam Barlow play a few times so I wouldn't rule him out as the Championship player.

| Paul T was it Carl Hughes you (HKR) checked on last season, he didn't play for the Dons towards the end of the season & hasn't signed for 2014. He is a good hard working forward but not sure about SL level .
It wasn't Brett Waller you were interested in was it.

It might well be Hughes.
