Probably why he ended up at a french second division part time team.

Just going by the impression I got when he slimmed off at Wigan, I think it was when Maguire arrived. Did more minutes, but lost the sheer wrecking ball style he'd previously had. My only concern is that while he's slimmed off, it sort of spoils the 'Fat Feka' nickname a tad.
There's an element of risk with both signings, but when you look around the league were not the only 2 clubs taking risks, sign of he times I guess.

Saints for me as well luke walsh is a terrific player who is a great goal kicker as well.and masoe and of course chase. For me as it stands they are the only team what seems to have improved their squad significantly, though i do think we have as well, any thoughts ?

At least get your facts right, he played for limoux in the top French league, which will be a better standard than playing part time in the PNG league like your two new signings.
The two PNG players currentley pay for Rabaul gurias and Mendi Muruks, who are both semi professional.

How do you know? You had never heardvof them until yesterday and you have never seen them play.
I can understand rovers signing keating and seaman etc, but these unknown part time players could potentially restrict game time to players like salter, cox and green.
With signings like these its no wonder Rovers take so much stick from other clubs for signing so many overseas players.
For the record, I am am not convinced by the signing if Feka, but at least he has played at the top level, not part time in a unknown league.

I don't think anyone will be complaining about Hull KR signing two PNG players. Certainly a lot better than the garbage Aussies like Holdsworth and McDonnell that FC have.

I agree, Walsh & Amor are superb signings which might well see an already good Saints team back to their former glories.
Recruiting top quality into the weakest areas of the team is a good strategy. That is what St Helens have done. None of the 'take a punt' 'lots of potential', 'back to his best' 'long term stategy'about their key signings just proven top quality in key positions.
Harder than ever to see a way into the top 5 for the rest of us, briefly it looked like Saints might decline, but no longer.

Again you have no idea, both the players you have mentioned played in the NRL.
Also McDonnell had a good season for us last year until injured. Certainly worst players than him in the Hull squad.

I couldn't care less if they played in the NRL, they are poor players and contribute nothing to the competition. They were only signed because they are Australian. As a neutral I'd much rather see PNG players or similar being given an opportunity than mediocre Aussies who are only here because they couldn't make it elsewhere and clubs like Hull FC are daft enough to sign them instead of giving young players a chance.

McDonnell is a very talented player who came over here on a 1 year contract and impressed enough to attract another club willing to double his wages.
That's success by any measure.
He's a better all round player than Shaul; and if we didn't have the blinding talent that is Greg Eden I'd welcome him back.
Will be interesting to see how Matty Russell gets on at Warrington. He was close to signing for us at one time and I wish he had done, he might be the best of the lot.
