| Quite embarassing if you ask me. I also fail to see how this coincides with 'health and safety'...the western terrace holds around 1800 spectators and that has to accomodate home fans too? Can see them having problems with that when the likes of Hull, Rovers, Leeds n Wigan turn up with 2-3000 travelling supporters.

| What's embarrassing about it?
Telling away fans where they have to stand in your own ground?
I'm sure that if the stand sells out they won't turn away custom.

TBH I always stand out of choice, behind or close to the dugouts. Much better view of the game.

I can understand that they would want their own supporters to populate the stand and give the team a lift but thats up to them to do that, if the away supporters drown them out then so be it, but policing it so that away fans cant stand there is quite cringeworthy imo.

Kinda' agree. There is no problem sectioning where away should be designated. However, it comes a bit murky when the club says home fans can still use this area too. If away fans aren't allowed to leave this terrace, then this area should really be exclusive to away fans. How will they know how many fans are in this area if home fans are allowed to mingle as they please?
I doubt we'll test the 1800 this weekend but as you mention Leeds/Wigan/Wire/Cas/Hull probably will. I just can't see how they'll successfully enforce this rule, when a team who will bring close to or more than 1800. If anything it has all the hall marks to cause a health and safety issue, rather than avoid one.

It's a difficult one, we've needed a kop of some kind for years and the only realistic place it can go is the north terrace, which inconveniently has been the traditional away end since anyone can remember.
Belle Vue is not a flexible stadium at all, and the bespoke hospitality suite complex and tiny capacity of the sides mean that potentially we could have away fans lining each side of the pitch.

Just read the whole thread on your board. I guess it could be a case of hope for the best, plan for the worst. I hope it works but it does seem that it could cause problems, esp if we travel in numbers (Sky and an indifferent performance will stop a number going though). Another frightening prospect is some of east Hull's finest language being aired on Saturday teatime. Terrific.

A monumental misunderstanding from someone who has nothing to do with it - that's you.
The home fans can stand anywhere in the ground, it's just the away fans who are restricted. You may have noticed this at your own club.
Despite the post of IHC it has nothing to do with creating an atmosphere, rather the opposite. We have a 20k suspended fine hanging over us from trouble in that stand last year. Hence this year we need to avoid that with ALL clubs.
It's a shame and no reflection on HKR just a sensible precaution and nothing to do with you childish theory.

Dont worry its still the same price for supporters unlike other clubs who segregate the stands and charge an extornate amount more for away fans including the hiking of food etc thats embarassing

I'm not a Rovers fan but as I understand it, away supporters are free to go elsewhere in Craven Park, as indeed they are at the KC.

I get your point but it's slightly pedantic. Yes they can but generally they don't. There is an away area at the KC that's for certain and for obvious reasons most away fans will go there. Ditto CP. This can be achieved because it is possible to segregate through the turnstiles and from within. This is especially the case at CP where the stands are separate.
This is not the case at BV where the whole terrace 75% of the ground is accessible from the inside with only the small seated area able to be restricted. Yep it's a really old and poor stadium for the modern game.
Last year we had real issues between fans with trouble caused by both. We simply have to do something this year so lets see how it goes. It's probably a back handed compliment as this plan only applies to clubs with a large away following.

| Unfortunately its partly because when Cas came there was a bit of trouble. I can't understand why putting a roof on the terrace makes a difference but for some reason it means that the idiots want to throw things at each other.
Wasn't a problem with others but as the club want to get teh home fans in there to make an atmosphere they want to make it safe as well and need to be seen to be doing something from a RFL point of view. (All my opinion by the way. no one has actually said that is why)
I've always had good banter with away fans when standing up there. Hull KR are the same, but equally it will make the atmosphere better for both teams to have their supporters together.
There is a covered area on the west terrace too if it rains, and you have plenty of bar access down there too.
Hope you enjoy the game whereever you stand.....but not as much as us obviously

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

| You'll be ok on the Western terrace, as long as it doesn't chuck it down, although there is some cover at the "flats" end of the Western Terrace.
Also, touchline bar, bottle bar, snack bar and toilets are all down that side.
We normally enjoy some good banter with the KR fans on that side and hopefully you'll have an enjoyable day (apart fropm the result)
If you bring 3000 accross, I dont know where they will put you.
