| Very promising debut from Sheriff, took the high bomb very well, even under pressure. I loved the way he was backing up, positioning also looked good. No way should he be dropped after yesterdays performance, he will be bouncing off his performance and full of confidence.

| i thought he dealt with the high balls well, but he just showed a little inexperience for 2 of there tries. The lad can only get better and looks a good prospect

| Made a very good attempted tackle that deserved to have somebody backing up on Karl Tomato, took a great bomb right under the sticks that was swirling in the wind and backed up very well in attack.
Looked a bit daft when pointing Luke Dorn to the corner only to have him fly by but there was certainly enough on show to be able to think we've got a prospect. Needs to be brought on steadily.

| Quote: Louis Sheriff "Despite his confident display, Sheriff was realistic about what he needed to do to keep himself in the thoughts of Head Coach Justin Morgan in the coming weeks.
"I'm at the bottom of the pecking order so I've just got to keep working hard in training and playing well whether it be with the first team, reserves or the under 18's.
"I've just got to put my best foot forward and give Morg's a headache when it comes to selection."'"
Wise words from a young man.

Quite
and not picking on him in particular but i never like the fact that players, esp young players refer to the coach by a nickname/shortened version.

| imo it depends on the boss, if he's happy to be called morgs rather than justin or mr morgan or boss or whatever, thats the boss's take on it. some do like to have a ranking others like to muck in, personally i dont think either is wrong as long as respect for the gaffer is there, i've played to a decent level and had both these scenario's. as long as respect is there it doesn't matter. in fact the only time it wasn't there was when the coach though he was above us and nicknames were out

| You have to remember that Louis is only 18, he isn't a big lad that can back up week in week out, sure some players came through when they were 16 but not many full backs do.
I am sure he will play very well if/when picked and he's done nothing to say he wont get another game this season so if he doesnt get in this weekend I don't think it will have anything to do with the 'quins game but more to do with not burning him out too soon.
He looked very good in attack and defended admirably for a debut at full back although he did look small and that showed when trying to defend against bigger blokes. This will take its toll on him if played regularly but I am sure the coach is more than qualified to make the correct decision on this one, he's not done such a bad job with Scotty, Ben and other youngsters that he's nurtured!

| Sheriff trains with the first team every day, would it not seem strange to you having all his team mates refer to Justin as "Morgs" and him having to call him "Mr Morgan?"
Just seems as though it would alienate the youngsters rather than making them welcome.

| you cant play him in the same team as Ben Cockayne anymore, too many people around me were getting them confused, (not me of course)
thought he did very well, (apart from Luke Dorns try)

Really? They don't look remotely alike and Sheriff has the Sinfieldesque biceps guards for easy identification.
Although I mentioned it, I don't think he could have done all that much about Dorn, he had the whole pitch to play with as no one was covering after bursting through the middle.
I was also wrong about his good attempted last ditch tackle. It wasn't on Karl "Cheese n" Temata, it was on Oliver "people say there's enough players for an expanded competition yet this useless donkey is supposedly a starting Super League prop despite being gash years ago at Widnes (was it?) when we were still in NL1" Wilkes.
Not sure that nickname will catch on as well as j. hunter hullkr's will for Cheese n.

| Oli Wilkes was a big big player in the NL1 GF and was one of the best forwards on the park. He may not be a top of SL player but he does a solid job a bit like Richard Moore.
