| By the way, this has been reported by the Yorkshire Post as well, not just the DS.

| Claire Balding mentioned this to Justin when he was guesting on the BBC a couple of weekends ago; he neither confirmed or denied his interest. If he got the offer, he'd be foolish turn it down and Rovers would not be able to stop it. I'd just hope that the RFL would compensate Rovers; if it did happen.

As if anyone on a public forum would admit to reading the Daily Star
morgan has zero profile in the NRL. do you think he'd have stayed at rovers if he could have got a gig at the top level in the world?

I think he would be stupid to take it (on a FT role anyway), it could ruin his reputation if he doesnt suceed (like many others before him) and could harm his chances of getting a bigger job.
I hope Kear gets it.

| If HKR get compensation they'll probably pack his bags for him. He probably would be relieved to leave a sinking ship and all that.

He's not that daft. A f/t role as a "Turd Polisher"?
If the RFL insist on making this job full time, then I suspect the quality of applicant will be down to the likes of Karl Harrison & Jon Sharp.

| 3 weeks of Tri-nations & the odd game vs France or Wales just isn't a full time job. Tim Sheens seems to manage ok doing his job part time.
The best coaches already have jobs & are unlikely to want to give them up. If you want to attract them it needs to be in a part time role. Insist on a full time coach & you'll be limited to those who are probably out of work for a reason.

| Part-time post, IMO. Sheens coaches Wests Tigers, iirc and Kearney is an assistant in the NRL, isn't he? Smith managed to combine the two this year, without too many problems - won the CC with his club and beat the World Champions with England. There is the club bias issue with squad selection, but that is the only problem I can see.
If they go for an Australian again, he'd be a good choice. It'd be a gamble for him to do it full-time, whereas part-time doubles his chance of success and England is, to use a snooker term, a bit of a shot to nothing nowadays.

It has been stated in reports that it will be a full-time role, I agree with this club coaches become biased on their selection.

Alright decided that it is a full time post. Well unless they changed their minds again, and the RFL never do that!

Standing up to the forum bully.
It must be working, he doesn't like me...i'm devastated: |

At the time he got the Rovers job he didn't, but don't you think Aussie clubs keep tabs on english coaches like they do the players ?
I reckon when the time comes and he wants to return home he will get a position within the NRL....don't you ?
