| Today Wigan tomorrow another SL team possibly our own.
I dont think a person who makes a decision on how he wants to "enjoy" himself is stupid. He knew the risks and was willing to take them as are many other top class rugby league and other sports stars.
I think the RFL can come out of this with heads held quite high too, how many RFU players are publically shamed and more to the point how many internationals are done for drugs use? Is that to say they dont use them?? Nah not by a long shot, the RFL obviously work hard to get whoever is using out of the game and this could be the shock to the system that some players need seeing such a big star getting a two year ban. Lets hope our youngsters coming through are put off his lifestyle.
On another kind of linked topic, he'd be able to go over to America to play the game now wouldn't he? Or does WADA stop him playing all sports all over the world??

| Quote: Bandito "They cant do anymore, they test at training, they test on match days, it would cost a fortune to increase it further. Two testers at £100 each per visit. they do 4 or 5 a week and there is 3 or 4 pairings working each day I think too.'"
I'm not saying there wouldn't be a serious cost implication and I admit I have absolutely no idea as to the logistics of such an operation. However, I would guess that a worst case scenario of losing another couple of England internationals would make Gillette think twice about their sponsorship deal.
All the clubs chair people meet up with Richard Lewis and Nigel Whatsisfatface at least once a year, surely, even in this day and age it's possible to be able to say to the clubs; "Either you sort this problem out or we will with extended testing that you'll have to pay for".
Interestingly I read somewhere on one of the other forums a quote from Hock's brother in law, Kevin Brown that seemed to imply that it was a fairly open secret that Hock had a problem. Fans on other forums seem aware that this is going on, can it really be true that nobody at the clubs know about this and if they do then surely they have a duty of care to their employees.
If that last paragraph breaks the AUP, then apologies GML, please delete it.

Always thought Iestyn would be more a fan of the porcine species.

| I have noticed one thing about all this, GB could stuff the Aussies 50-0, 50-0, 50-0 and take the Ashes in Oz and it would not make the top sports story on BBC, but the minute one RL player shoves something up his nose its top of the pile (even got a mention before mr 'Charisma' Murray on Wimbledons first day).

look at Andrew Johns, it seems it was a fairly open secret that he was taking ecstasy in his spare time, but nobody in Aus wanted the golden-boy's reputation harmed.

We don't (and won't ever ) know this for certain....
But it's a fair assumption
