Who cares how big the crowds in London are SKY certainly dont & they own the super league lock stock & barrel. As long as they are paying for us to be full time pro then they get what they want. I expect that there will be another semi pro club in London next year. I keep hearing the call to help the heartland clubs well I am sorry to say that is a non starter now as very few of the clubs outside super league have a big enough base to grow. Rovers are struggling to catch up with FC the only other clubs in any position to do well are the Leeds based Hunslet (who had bigish crowds in the 50,s & 60,s) Oldham & Widnes. The cost of running a fully pro side of 25 plus players has pushed our sport out of the small towns forever & we have to live with that. To go back to semi pro would kill the game & union would take all our players & probably our clubs as well.
