Somebody sees sense.'"
So the way to increase revenues is to create a 2 tier season pass?
Take the east stand for example. Existing season pass holders will be forced into becoming members or risk the chance of a not being able to keep their pass for the east stand.
A family i know face an increase of either £181 or £240 and considering we are in the middle of a recession its a joke.

| Quote very red robin="very red robin"but isnt this the correct figure (£221 as an example for east stand pass) if your just buying a season pass as new, no doubt if we renew our season pass before a certain date then we will get a discount off the full price of £221? (like this season) so in fact it wont be as expensive as it looks for existing pass holders?'"
Depends how hard they are pushing the membership - my guess is fairly. Remember as well that prices are frozen at 2008 prices for 2010 [iand[/i 2011 if you buy membership. So 2 years of east stand season tickets plus membership, works out as a 16.75% increase. For the West Stand it is a 14.3% increase. Hefty, but remember 2 / 3 years of inflation will account for some of that (5-6%, ~one third of the increase, based on the current CPI of 2.2%. Mrs B; the current RPI, which I suspect will be your preferred measure is -1.1%). In real terms, I estimate, prices are going up 10%, and you are being asked for £60 up front. If you can afford that, I think that you can be fairly confident that the money will be invested back into the club/safeguard its SL future.
Also, if fans buy into being a member (in both senses), then the other benefits (which I think have been dismissed a bit too lightly), can be valuable to both club and support.

You're right, we're in a recession so Rovers should be cutting their prices for the fans! It's not like an economic down turn will effect a Rugby Club is it!
As far as I've read it, the only people being cynical over the Club Rovers thing are a) People who can't afford it and b) Hull FC fans. These people aren't thinking about the club and it's future, just their own financial situation (which is understandable at the minute). This season will be the most successful season we've seen for over a decade so of course season pass prices are going up, as will demand for season passes! At least the club have made a price freeze available as part of the whole Club Rovers thing.

I agree clubs may need to increase their prices but an increase of £40+ is excessive in my opinion.

How would you raise revenue? Or would you cut costs?
(Use a hypothetical club, rather than Rovers, for the sake of argument, so you don't feel obliged to run it into the ground)

Your the one having a kiddy hissy fit to the question sunshine.
You wont be paying the £60 so i fail to see why you feel the need to comment so much on it.

no one is been forced to buy one and if people don’t want to that’s there up to them.
my guess is that by next season pass holders will have risen by about 500 and about 4000 of them will be membership card holders.
At the end of the day £60 equals about 2 pints less a week not that much to ask.

So I'm being cynical now because I can't afford it?
Having done the calculations we will actually be financially better off buying our passes at the increased price than paying the frozen price plus the membership.

TBH I'm not sure how to raise revenue all I know in the last year the the fans have had hospitality meals icreased by around £20 and now the passes have increased by £40+
I understand its difficult financial times for the club but dont forget you've had reoord pass sales and a a record sponsorship deal in the last 6 months aswell.
