theres two ways of reading this..
Mason is still awaiting his Tongan passport and would need special dispensation from the Rugby Football League to be registered a second time. (Is this if we were to seek dispensation without his passport) so once his passport comes through we don't then need dispensation and its a done deal.

| I don't think the press necessarily understand the situation. I'm not having a pop, it's complicated and they're not likely to be more professional than I am obsessional - and I don't know what's going on.
We needed and got a special dispensation for Dobson. Whether one would be needed for Mason if he got his passport I don't know - he wouldn't then be an overseas player... but the rules weren't designed to cope with this. So if new ones have to be improvised, then it is politics and the following should be considered...
Press reports suggest Rovers, to secure Dobson's re-reg, may have given assurances that they would not ask to re-reg Tongan Willie Mason. Unless absolutely necessary or with a firm offer from Toulon in place, that would be a bit stupid and seems slightly at odds with the club's claim that they are still working to get the passport.
Even if we assume the RFL are unhappy with HKR (given that they accepted the same third party assurances as the club, this is less certain (or certainly less justified) than some paint it), 'punishing' Willie Mason for events beyond his control might not look good - ethically or even legally.

[quote="The Reason":3e09qe5x]Hi Andy
The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

Hardly surprising, no doubt he turned down other clubs (I know Huddersfield were in the mix), to join you lot who clearly tried to screw the system and now he is sat in the stands!

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Good stuff isn't it?
Mild Rover almost single handedly negotiated Mason's Toulon move a couple of weeks ago.

There is clearly some truth behind it - Toulon's manager has acknowledged contact with Mason's representative, but I'm still not convinced it went any further than that. It's been an education of sorts!
