| has anyone actually looked at the list?
i myself have and have picked a error up in it that i know for certain, it states it was last updated begining of august, well if you look down the list of last seasons leavers then you will find crocker(hull fc)......... didn`t we all know before august that he had his visa rejected and signed a 3year contract with a nrl team...............
so i wouldn`t believe all that it says, i don`t follow the nrl that closely but i reckon there will be a few others that are incorrect on the list

This season the allowance for overseas trained players is 8. (Rovers have actually been running with 7 due to the early departure of Crossman).
Next season the allowance goes down to 6.
We already have 6 overseas trained players who are contracted for 2010 (Newton, Galea, Webster, Dobson, Vella and Fisher).
That's why Fitzhenry must leave. That's also why Rovers cannot sign any more overseas players unless one of those 6 leaves early. Also bear in mind that for season 2011 the allowance is down again to 5 so someone else must leave in another year also.
Some people seem to think that Vella & Fisher are exempt but that doesn't seem to be the case. Certainly neither Rovers or the RFL have ever made a statement to that effect.
The only foreign players we have been told are exempt are Lovegrove, Aizue and Gene.
There have been lots of rumours that Jake Webster is going home early. If he does then he opens a quota spot and he could be replaced from overseas.

| Vella now has his Maltese passport however i do not know what affect this has!!
The reason people get confused with the Fisher one is i beleive because he plays for Scotland.
I mean is KP English or South African?

I belive a grandparent who was a british national entitles the grandchild to claim british citizenship.
So therefore unless the rules have been changed Fisher can claim britishness if he wants which looking at the interpritations of the rules give him a very good chance that he will be off quota on contract renewal.
Vella is now classed as maltese which entitles him to work in the UK so ditto for him as well.
But TBH its a bloody minefield trying to understand who isnt and who is on the exemption extension list.

| Lets hope Dobbo has a Scottish or English family member then as he wont get in the Aussie team playing over here but we might as well get him off quota if hes gonna be here another few years

| Quote: His Bobness "So why does Fitzhenry have to leave?'"
He doesn't as such.
The club is planning ahead by making percentage decisions.
Therefore, if we suffer a bad injury or a world class Aussie becomes available mid-season, then we have the cap & quota space to make that signing. If that isn't necessary, then we can take advantage of the better players coming off contract at the end of next year.

That is my exact calculation of how we stand with the quota issue also but we are wrong because I know that the club were talking to a couple of overseas players for next year but instead chose to keep their power dry as there are better players coming off contract at the end of 2010.
We do have one quota spot available next year for definite...

Doesnt Websters contract finish at the end of next season anyway
So with Fitzy gone this year, Webster gone next year, we would be down to the 5 players for 2011 therefore would need to release ANOTHER player to get anyone else in? (unless fisher/Vella become exempt)
Or is my very vague understanding of this wrong?

Webster and Galea are both ooc at the end of 2010, so if His Bobness's (I've been waiting to do that ) assessment is correct (and it sounds right to me), then we can only renew one of their contracts. Or both could go and we could sign somebody else. Others disagree - it is a bit confusing!

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.
