I fail to see what you contribute to this forum with your inane 'cackling'.
Each to their own I guess.

I contributed the greatest thing ever to inflict this board - POETRY.
Now, if you'd list all the unforgetable contributions you've made, maybe we can compare?
Also, thankyou for your moderator vote a few weeks ago - you must have thought I was contributing then

However, now that Shannon has declared his hand I feel Rovers ought to use this period to give members of the current squad a chance. Shannon can always be shunted onto the wing.'"
A bit O/T, but I'm always reluctant to see SL games as a development tool or testing ground. I guess it has to be because of the apparent weakness of the reserve grade comp.
Anybody got a feeling as to where the U20s comp stands in comparison to the Championship and Championship 1?
Could we get Sheriff a dual reg gig?

Knowing that McDonnell is leaving you would think they'd be looking for a dual reg somewhere.

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

| Hall really isn't the answer at full back. He can't organise his own defence, never mind everone else's.
I'm more than happy to see him in the centre, as long as he's got a good defensive second row, such as Galea along side him.
No point throwing our toys out of the pram because McDonnell's decided to move on. I'm not a big fan of his. his one on one defence is suspect and he's also not got the consistency of a top full back. He does, and can, chime into the line nicely and his kick returns are pretty good.
Leave him where he is for now, try and get Sherrif some game time in the The Championship for a couple of months and then maybe give him some game time towards the back end of the season.

| I guess if Sandercock has any plans to look/use Hall as a possible full back, then he may as well do it sooner rather than later. If we're gonna' be in the market for a new fb, we may as well explore our current options first, before ruling out Hall/Welham/Sheriff etc. The timing of the interview could be a clue/hint that we might be looking at this as soon as this weekend. Gets people familiar with the idea, s'pose. Personally I don't have a problem swapping McD & Hall. McD has hardly impressed defensively, so in theory I guess Hall can't really do much worse. Offensively it's a bit like for like. Hall's confidence and erratic moments, are a cause for concern tho'.

If Sandercock has any plans to use Hall at FB I'd have to question his sanity. Somebody needs to show him the tapes of how that went when we tried it - and quickly.

Agar's fault that.
Anyway, didn't you see Paul T's post? Craig Hall is a totally different player @ Rovers

| I dont get everyone saying that McDonnell is no good? He has been very very good and can only see him getting better with the weather.
So will be interesting to see where he goes because Id imagine he would only leave us for a bigger club with more chance of silverware.
Its very possible we will end up with a full back next year much 'cacker' than McDonnell.

As the non-fed exemptions taper out and the NRL grows wealthier one of two things will happen...
1. All those brilliant youngsters who were denied an opportunity by dastardly imports will come to the fore, and we'll be beating the Ockers as often as not shortly.
or
2. The quality of the competition will diminish, those left behind merely look better. We still lose to the Aussies, but Craig Hall to fullback becomes a workable solution. Every cloud.

Pretty much my thoughts (except perhaps the Hall bit). People need to look back to the 80s and see that the more imports we had in the competition the closer we became to the Aussies.

Opinions innit. You think he's very very good. Others don't share that opinion. I'm somewhere in the middle.
Obviously we'll only know how great McD's loss will be, when we know who we've replaced him with and how much sun McD has had.
