| Quote: R.B.A "It will hit us harder if we re-sign a 33 year old prop on a six figure salary who cant consistantly play at the top level any more.'"
It would, but perhaps it wouldn't be a six-figure salary and he doesn't count as quota or fed-trained. If Clinton goes, losing Vella as well would leave a hole that'd be hard to fill. Hull fans want a new forward to complement all their new pivots, Saints will want somebody to (partially) compensate for the loss of Graham, Leeds are already ushering Cross and Burgess toward the departure lounge. Watts, Taylor and Cox should each hopefully take a step forward and with the Mason and Clinton cap-space available there may be deals to be done, but it won't be easy. And, of course, Clinton might stay.
The CEO piece of HKRTV confirmed what I thought - the new NRL will solve many of the 'problems' the quota systems have been trying to deal with. To make up the shortfall kids will get more of a chance - [iand[/i the old men will get a year or two more, at all clubs.

| Can't understand why you would ditch Morgan for Kear.
I will always be grateful to Kear for giving me my 2 best days as a Hull fan (the fantastic semi final performance of 2005 and of course the final win) but while he is probably the best in the game at getting the 'underdog' the upset the odds, his teams are always woefully inconsistent.
Sure you may enjoy some big wins against big sides, maybe even win the cup like we did...but you'll have to sit through loads of games each year where the team either just doesn't turn up, or completely collapses.
I also think that SL has moved on since he coached us, back then you could lose a few games and still finish 4th-6th and have a shot at the grand final, lose a few games now and you won't even make the 8.

| ur too hard on justin.he has got u where u are,and has earned the right to try to steady the ship now that ur in rougher waters.bear in mind the disruption you've had with the mason saga, dobbo being injured and cockpain in trouble again.
the successful clubs like saints, leeds and wigan have a good youth system to back up good recruitment, and that takes time.

| Hmm, a gamble of Andrew Webster would be an interesting one: he's been with the club 6 years now hasn't he? Prob therefore knows the club inside out, appears a good employee, never know eh....

Very much part of the problems, i think JM would admit he has had too much of his ear..,
If it was the sum total of Rovers ambitions in the game to appoint a man who career highlight was playing for the Connecticut Wildcats then they would deserve the total lack of success (and decent players..) to come their way.., a fast track to Harlequins territory...

Well something now has to happen, that 80 minutes was Edit-RW embarrassing.
Time for Morgan to go, no other option IMO.

| Dont know if its been mentioned but Im a little wary of the fact that Morgan has the samr agent as Dobson and at least a couple of other aussies. Can he be objective when players are negotiating with the club and Morgans own agent?

It has been mentioned. I mused about Riolo and Morgan in a Sydney rooftop hot tub champagne-toasting their mutually beneficial deal packages a while ago. Just being silly, of course, but I'm not sure how normal it is to have 7 players and a coach all with the same agent. Could provide a bit of a conflict of interest IMO.

Might be worth a chant at the next home game.

Sorry, don't know what else to suggest after this afti. More sensibly Noble with Gene as assistant, don't think that's too insane an idea.

| Isn't this the first season you've seriously under-performed? Morgan - out seems a bit hasty to me.

no offence but your not watching them they are a lot of players who arent playing with pride and passion, I would go further to say they are taking the mickey out of fans!!. I am not enjoying the drive home anymore and i,m feeling despondant. the fans deserve better we have had 20 years of hurt from our time out of div 1 then superleague it hurts and ive havent forgotten those dark days watching the lads at bloody prescot and hunslet. Justin has brought us back to where I personally feel we belong. But a lot of the playing squad should go before justin does!
