For me it's educating the player's about the real world and that they are privileged. Helping the flood victims in Cumbria or a foodbank in Birmingham for example gives the players a sense of humility. I think it's a great idea and it's only for a new days. If it helps them see and tests them. It can only be a positive move well done chezza and staff.

I have no idea if this is a good idea or not as to how it will transfer to results on the pitch, but I whole heartedly applaude the club for doing it.

I've worked in a more than a few desperate situations with people I wasn't too keen on, but when backs are to the wall, you get on and and do the job.

You then find bonds that stick tight, that will undoubtedly help you on the pitch.

Even if it doesn't, we pride ourselves on being a community club, and we'll have added to the community with this initiative.

3 days is hardly going to hamper the fitness regime I would have thought it will be a lot better than the 2 days on a plane that was hinted at a few months ago in the trip to the USA.

Think it's a great idea. We lacked mental toughness as well as fitness last year.
Too many times we chucked the towel in when defending. This may help with all sorts of aspects of the squads mental toughness.

I don't see how it will add to this mental toughness that has been spoke about to me it seems like saying people that do volunteering up and down the country have more of this mental toughness than a RL player

Dixon, Tilse, Cockayne and Sio were training with Workington last night, they all enjoyed the session and the club's hospitality afterwards.

Each group were given 1k to feed themselves and find accommodation etc - Graeme Horne said it was a waste of time, they just booked into a cheap B&B

What should they have done? Surely booking into a cheap B&B and carrying out the days activities was the whole point and hardly a waste of time.

Although I was pretty neutral about this training camp, I suppose it helped communities and kept players out of trouble.
Left to their own devices they may have got pi$$ed up, got pulled for drink driving twice over the limit with no insurance or MOT. Ooops, sorry, wrong forum.
