Clint Newton sat out last week's reserve grade game for no reason that I can see, and he is in good form playing lock for 70 or 80 minutes a game.
The only other "middle 3" guy I think will be looking for somewhere else soon is Sam Mataora. He signed from Canberra to Newcastle mid last season looking for a chance to play firstgrade, and he has been very good in reserve grade, but a few younger guys like Vaivai and Tapine have been better and he doesn't look like getting a game anytime soon.
The other outside chance is Zane Tetevano. He was a regular firstgrade prop last year till sacked because of domestic violence charges. His legal issues should be settled soon. They have been going on for about a year.

I've only seen Mark Mexico live once, last year when he was playing reserve grade for Cronulla against Newcastle. He is not very subtle. All he knows how to do is run hard at the line. No step. No slowing down. No thought of passing. Just head down and charge. He is pretty hard running and he is an enthusiastic defender.

Walker and Tilse tend to like the offload,so maybe the head down and charge at the line a la Makali Aizue may offer a not so subtle alternative.

In all honesty, I would welcome Clint back at this moment in time. My only concern would be that when Clint was with us he ruled the roost and did whatever he pleased. The one thing that we have going for us at this moment in time is that there seems to be no cliques within the squad and everyone seems to accept themselves as being an equal and valuable member of the squad ......I would hate a return to the Morgan/Sandercock years regarding in house Prima Donnas!

Surely someone like Mark Mexico is exactly what we need all the other teams have ago forward prop- he can only improve with the experience gained and he will be cheap
