I heard from someone this afternoon that he may be out for between six and eight weeks, so as there is some discrepancy in the information we have both
been given, it may be a case of the situation been somewhat exaggerated, lets hope so.

I coached for a long time and we won 95% of games because winning is a mental state driven by a desire to CRUSH an opposition. Did FC look as though they wanted to Crush Wigan and strangle them until they screamed ? NO

Sounds serious. How do you develop a blood clot - I know you can get a DVT on a flight for example, but not something you hear about often as an RL injury as such. Is it just a spontaneous thing? Blooming bad luck if so.

Not sure in this case, but its not a 1st at Rovers. David Luckwell had a bad one in his leg a few years ago, he was out ages and even when he did get back he was never the same player.

Most common cause is after an operation in the leg, my husband developed one after he had his cartridge trimmed in his knee (old rugby injury). He was on warfarin for 12 months and carried a card, the issue with the drug is that it thins the blood so if you are involved in an injury which involves blood loss you pose a higher risk. It thins the blood as the danger of a clot is it may reach the heart which is life threatening or the lungs. |
