I think people are far too harsh on our current crop of front rowers.
We finished 4th despite Fozzard being by and large a let down, Vella missing half the season injured and playing the other half clearly unfit and Lovegrove missing a chunk of the season injured.
With Watts returning to the club next season we will start at present with a front row panel of Vella, Wheeldon, Lovegrove, Netherton and Watts.
Im not saying that we dont need another prop but it is hardly wrist slitting time at the minute and i certainly dont see it as a reason for us to slip down the table.

Would be a waste of a top quality 2nd rower.

I agree though TBF Rovers have been linked to a number of props who would bring the aggression you are missing at prop.

Maybe a scout at the Pacific cup would be worthwhile. Plenty of raw aggression on sight there I reckon!

Possibly but i thought that Rovers looked very impressive this season in the games where Newton started the first 20 minutes at prop and came on in the second row for his second spell.
Could be an option with Matt Cook coming in and hopefully the emergence of Scott Taylor.

Would take ability over "raw aggression" every day of the week. All players are aggressive by their nature.

Thats up to you but my point is you can pick up a raw prop for little money and with good coaching turn that player into a quality prop who provides 'impact'.

Why wouldnt you see that as a positive?

You mean you can pick up a raw prop for little money and turn him into an 85k a year prop inside a year with a little help off his agent.

Thought it was strange that you had a sudden dislike for impact props! Its cos Hull have signed a couple isnt it?

I mean it is favourable then bringing on a grafting second row as your impact prop.

Theres more than one way to skin a cat!
