| Quote: mean_machine "Difficult to watch yesterday. I can take getting beat when you know your team have put a shift in or beaten by a better team i.e leeds, but yesterday was just a massive backwards step. The lack of enthusiasm, motivation and desire was the most disappointing for me.
Yes, we will score tries this season and with a bit more control yesterday we could of easily racked up 30+ points, but it seems we are lacking in a bit of honest hard graft to allow our flair players to get in them positions.
the 1st 30 mins yesterday were not to bad i don't think, we handled quite a lot of what they threw at us and then got our selves in the lead. Then our game plan went to pot and although albert kelly is clearly our best player, the pass he threw out for miller to pick up and level the scores was a shocker and a momentum swinger. Why was we even doing that with 5 mins to go with a half time lead in tact, in our own 20. Not only are we lacking enthusiasm and motivation in defence, we are one of if not the dumbest team in the league with game management.
Stan has summed up the defensive issues well so will not go over, but the biggest issue for me is that we just cant control the ruck. Teams then get a roll on, suck in our middle men and leave our fringes ( who couldn't tackle a sunday dinner) exposed.
Wakey did the basics, very well. None of their tries were outstanding pieces of skill/power etc they just ran good lines, ran hard and played with energy. If we are struggling let's at least do them basics see where it takes us from there.
Honorable mentions yesterday - Sio worked hard, mccarthy put a shift in, kelly tried ( maybe to hard ) blair although still looking round put a good shift in as well, and french john looked good. Cockayne as per looks to spark things. KR fans, fantastic support. I am not overly optimistic if i am honest i can't see any defensive improvement coming.'"
I suggest you watch again or take off your HKR specs - the Guardian and the YP describe some of Wakefield's tries as "superb" "wonderful" "brilliant" their words not mine andI'd agree, still stay bitter my friend.

| Vasty, we are picking apart our own failings, if you want to blow smoke up your own player's asses, feel free, but you won't get any buy-in around here. Without wishing to put your performance down, a team prepared to miss <35 tackles would have beaten you yesterday. Smith was superb, your pack dominated, but it was all as a result of our deficiencies. That's a HKR fan perspective, and it's the only one I've got. I don't do "neutral".

vastman is one of the few posters on here who make the fake frenchie's posts look almost sensible. Even the wakie fans know he's a cock

| The majority of wakey tries came on the back of either our mistakes or our penalties. If we had an ounce of game management or ability to defend you would not have scored as many tries as you would not have been in the positions to do so.
We were pants, and your guys thoroughly deserved the win because as i said you did the basics very well. You could argue that a couple of rileys tries had decent skill level but realistically 1 dummy runner and a cut out ball should be relatively easy to defend against, unless you play for us.
Compare this to the week previous when kallum watkins scored/created tries out of pure skill you can see my point. They were actually hard to defend against were as the wakey tries could have been avoided. I applaud wakey for the conviction shown in finishing us off, they did what they needed to do.

Hmmmm, possibly. I don't recall Kelly kicking a 40/20.

Owned by Rolfie? Hmm, not sure where you get that from but, whatever. So, bonus points are being handed out in SL now are they?

Last 10 mins or so. I think we turned the ball over 2nd or 3rd tackle.

Oh ok, could have happened near the end, we were walking towards the exit and taking advantage of the excellent toilet facilities during the last 5 mins. In fact, smacking the useless hand-dryer and wiping my wet hands on my jeans was possibly the day's highlight.

Doing my best John McEnroe impersonation - "You cannot be Serious." I have watched the game on our TV channel. If I was a regular reader of these rags, I would question if these so called RL reporters they used yesterday were actually at the game. Are you sure they weren't sneaking a crafty look at the taff v jock rugby yawnion international in one of your hospitality boxes.
Your tries were all gifted by a non existent defensive structure in our team, crap reads by our defence, school boy defending on the fringes, unforced errors, forced passes and a lack of composure. Lauatiti stepping Kelly for an assist on the last try exemplifies what my fellow posters are on about. Rileys outrageous sidestep for his try taking out 3 covering defenders on the touchline was also due to our lack of basic defensive structure. Our lack of defensive intensity also allowed Tim Smith far too much time to play and he had all day to pick his cut out passes and reverses.
It's not bitterness, fella, it's anger and frustration at 2 points gifted by Hull Kr to a hardworking, half decent team who on the day wanted it and deserved it more than we did.

| Quick synopsis of the game, as seen on Hull KR TV. Thank God I didn't go.
We were OK for the first quarter, borderline crap for the next 2 quarters and wading in total cack for the last quarter.
Analysis of key details of our playing performance has been perfectly summarised by my fellow posters in previous posts.
On the evidence of what I have just watched, we had no passion, commitment, structure or awareness. Line speed and ptb was half hearted.
Coaching and conditioning is to blame. Unfamiliarity with each others strengths and weaknesses also partly at fault.
Regarding individuals, Cockayne was very good. Bailey, Boudebza, Green, Sio were good. Carlile, Horne, Mantellato, McCarthy, Salter were pants. The rest barely Ok. It's unfortunate Kelly made 3 errors that led to tries, otherwise he would have run Cockayne close as our best player.
Rob Crossland has promised an in depth review of the performance and has asked for strategies and solutions. Does he come on here? If so, he'll get some accurate pointers as to the priority fixes required.

You know all this and you didn't actually go, how patronising can you get, pathetic really.
Truth is Wakefield's second to last try would have graced any cup final - but no not to you - why? - Because you''re a snob who just can't accept that a team supposedly lower down the SL food chain even that yourselves is actually at this very moment plaining great skillfull RL. How mean spirited and how shameful - the RL family I wouldn't pee it.
As for loving genuine people (yep I notice that and it made me ) I say in the words of you know who "You cannot be Serious" you wouldn't know genuine if it got up and bit you.
Still you kid yourself you were by effort and desperation. We on the other hand will hopefully carry on watching Smith, Godinet and big Ali ripping teams apart with their blind passes, scoot and pass or sublime offloads you big wally
