Daryl Powell is undoubtedly a very good coach with a fair bit of coaching experience, certainly more than Sandercock, he was also a very good player.
If i remember correctly he coached at Leeds in the early millennia for two or three years but was succeeded by Tony Smith after disappointing results .
So, although he is a good coach, he hasn't always had the success he is having now, it has been work in progress (most of it been in a lower league) since he first came into coaching around 13 years or 14 ago .
My argument still stands, although i'm not saying keep Sandercock on indefinitely by any means, i am saying, it can take longer than 2 1/2 years for a coach to get where he wants to be, in any sport at ameature level or professional.

I'm all for stability and continuity but would you continue throwing your money away on a horse who couldn't run to save it's life just because you think one day it might win? You've got to be sure you're backing the right man and IMO neither owner of the Hull clubs currently is

He had a better squad did he? Well who's fault is that seeing as the spend has to be EXACTLY the same?
Oh and BTW JM managed 4th place after being the guy taking us up and building us into a SL club with that said if you want to make the complete comparison apart from in our first SL season (When JM did the great job of keeping us up) we never finished lower than 7th. Yet under Sandercock who has been handed a SL club we haven't managed to finish higher than 8th.

Still if you want to pretend it isn't the fault of CS go right ahead. I'll not be burying my head and pretending the same though.

A coach is handed a team that finished 7th at lowest and takes them to 10th,8th and highly probable 9th or worse (Let's be honest with ourselves) and you want him to get an extension?

Spot on and at least he inspired the odd great performance and a cc semi final. Not one of sandercocks stats have matched Morgans or look like doing so. Stability is good as long as an improvement is in sight unfortunately we look like getting worse.

Yes we finished fourth and got hammered in both play off games I appreciate what Morgan did and I'm not the biggest fan of sandercock but ones treated like a hero and one like the anti Christ yet they have similar records in super league as both have won nothing and both scrape into the play offs and get beat

Finishing 4th of 6 isn't scraping in.So I'll say it again.
JM whilst building (Do you see the word I used here?)a SL club/team managed 7,4(2 years after promotion no less),7,7.
SC whilst given (Do you see the word I used here?) a well established SL club/team managed 10,8,9 (Or worse).

That isn't similar at all in fact it's bizarre you even used the word.

You have to compare like with like tho. JM took a championship side to 4th in sL and a cc semi. Sandy took a SL side and has them performing like a championship team. We are very lucky this year two teams have financially imploded or we would be in dire straits.

Can anyone name one area we are better now than two and a half years ago and youth development isn't one of them much to the dislike of the applogists.

I'll give you my prediction in 12 months time mate. CS gets his extension and this time next year when we are staring down the barrel of the middle 8 almost to a man all those who are saying 'Give him the extension' will be up in arms saying 'Sack him'.
Why do I say this? His track record screams it. You can see it, I can see it I, have no clue how others can't.

Well bloody said every thing you have said is true I have been a rovers fan since the early 60s and both me and the wife and kids when I lived in hull, went to every match home and away well the kids went to the home games the wife and I went to both I have seen the sh==t and the great coaches come and go but this guy will never get it right but if he stays I hope I am wrong but I doubt it

Well said Anakin. That's exactly how I see it too. Keeping him would IMO be the biggest mistake in Hudge's tenure.
