Yes they where both in front of the lkicker.. so it does make you wonder what replay Ganson was watching..
I said at the time - those two are off side...

When it went to the screen there was no nod to his team mates that he had grounded it ok and he didn't look convinced he had when the camera panned in on him.
That was my impression.

| Yeamans try was dodgy but I've seen them given. If we'd lost on that try I would have been annoyed but accepted it. The last illegal try was obviouscto the thousands watching tv and many their stadium. Forward passes can and do get missed. There is absolutely no accepting how Ganson gave this offside try.
Last years forward pass didn't actually win the game, Hodgsons awesome try did. Gansons inability to understand the rules and actually see anything DID give Hull the win.
The RFL cannot leave him in charge of the refs after this shocking inability to actually watch a game of RL let alone judge on it.
Ganson has always been a premadonna but enough is enough. #sackganson

And its late...
but i saw
Quote: bishops finger "1 poor errors on Gansons part. Yeamons try was inconclusive on 2 angles and the other angle was very clearly a try to say the least. Then the offside try. Words fail me. After admiting hes made a mistake he should resign and do us all a favour.
'"
Quite obviously we both agree on "After admiting hes made a mistake he should resign and do us all a favour" ... but if he did what would be end up with? Some spotty oik who doesn't have the bottle to blow his whistle?

| Quote: Reenyrobin "My thoughts exactly, when that pitiful statement from the RFL came out!!!!!! Exactly who was he supposed to be tracking, if not Greene? I saw Greene was off side when the incident happened, so felt safe in the knowledge that the try would be disallowed, then, Ganson; a professional referee tracks the wrong person? With all the replays? I'm sorry, if I can see it was off side in real time, then he should have no excuses with several replays!!!!!! The only two excuses I can possibly see for this areRFL statement on Green's try
The RFL have admitted that video referee Steve Ganson made an incorrect decision in awarding a try to Chris Green of Hull FC.RFL Head of Match Officials Jon Sharp said: "We have reviewed the decision and it is clear that Steve made the wrong call."Honesty and accountability are important to the match officials department and we can only apologise for the error."Steve has been in contact with Hull Kingston Rovers and offered his apologies. He is one of the sport's most experienced officials and deeply regrets having got it wrong."We will conduct a full review of the performance of our match officials following Magic Weekend and take what steps we can to ensure mistakes like this do not happen again."
Not good enough imo.

OK, buy I saw him get straight up and celebrate ... i didn't notice much after that as I was also celebrating...
initial reaction is always (in my opinion) a better judge on whether a player has scored a try or not... Too many times you see players confirming to others thay have scored when the VR rules it out and its clearly not a try..
I'll look forward to watching it again tomorrow ....

| Gansons apology to Hull kr makes it all ok. Yes hes made a mistake but hes held his hand up which makes it ok. The RL are happy with the apology so its all ok too I feel much better about it now that I know its all ok

| If the next Billy Slater hadn't been so far out of position that he couldn't get near the ball to catch it, there would have been no decision to make.
The decision was a bad one, but seems like Ganson has owned up to making a genuine mistake. It doesn't make it ok, but there's nothing your players can do but use it as motivation going forward.
People talk about these controversies harming the game, but 3 out of the four games today saw a team concede nearly 50 points, that's more damaging IMO.

| Quote: Hessle Roader "Ganson proved today what we all knew. That he is incompetent. He did it to us last year and he's done it to you today. Unfortunately his back will be covered by those in authority and he'll carry on making the same errors.
For what its worth, I thought you'd done enough to win today, but disregarding the TRY!!! at the end, we would have have been sharing the points.'"
That's very generous of you so fair play.
Personally I think Rovers would have won if the try had been disallowed since we would have had a penalty for offside from where the kick was made.
Could have gone for goal (2metres inside Hull half) or more likely with 6 tackles drive for the sticks and drop a goal.
We'll never know and of course all the talking can't change anything.

I was disappointed it was given as it looked short initially and as it did reach the line control was lost but the biggest clue for me was on Yeaman's face,he thought it was no try himself judging by his reaction.'"
Everyone in the Sky commentary box, including Cummins, called it as a try. At no point could you be 100% sure he [ididn't[/i ground it and that's the test applied. I've seen far worse given under BOD.

Yeah - on viewing again Lynch isn't as close to Houghton as I remembered, and neither does Houghton run him onside. No idea who Ganson was tracking instead of Green TBH.

| fair play, rovers were the better team and should have won the game. to be honest you should have been out of sight by the 70 minute mark. RL is a great sport which is too often let down by poor decision making by the officials, and today's was one of the worst i have seen. Yeamos was just about ok, but to be honest we didnt even deserve a draw but you don't always get what you deserve in sport
that said, as others have pointed out, if eden takes the ball we don't have this to discuss. i would get rid of him, too much of a liability despite his obvious attacking talent

impossible to say, you could for instance have knocked on on the first tackle and we could have scored under the new advantage rule, or you could have missed the penalty and we could have gone up the other end. too much uncertainty in sport
