| just been reading about Ben Galea seems a sad state of affairs that he is leaving Rovers for FC. I wonder how many more are thinking of doing the same. Is this some kind of Paul Cooke get back from Adam Pearson. Still like the look of our signings over theres though. I think Hudgell/sandercock has gone back to passion for next season. Fancy three derby wins for 2013.

I doubt it very much.

It's nothing like the Cooke situation. If anything it's more like the Chris Chester or Shaun Briscoe moves. Player see's out contract and moves on.
You have been in your car a bit too long if you don't see the quality in Hulls Signings to date.
I'll have a tenner with you that your derby prediction is wrong. [sizeunless you mean three derby wins for Hull FC[/size

| I think galea is a fantastic player but it is exactly the right time to let him go.
We kept vella a year to long and if we'd kept galea it'd have been exactly the same situation. injured half he season and us suffering for it. I'll wish him good luck but can see another injury hit season for him and fc .

| After the London game I witness one of Rovers lady fans give Benny G a hug and thank him for his time at Rovers, but then she added the next time she sees him he will be the enemy. She was serious. Benny G's face dropped. In that fleeting moment I got the impression his move across the city hit home. There's no sentiment in 'ull lol!

Life is a game of inches, so is football. Because in either game - life or football - the margin for error is so small. I mean, one half a step too late or too early and you don't quite make it. One half second too slow, too fast and you don't quite catch it. The inches we need are everywhere around us. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone else around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when add up all those inches, that's gonna make the difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying! You've got to look at the guy next to you, look into his eyes. Now I think ya going to see a guy who will go that inch with you. Your gonna see a guy who will sacrifice himself for this team, because he knows when it comes down to it your gonna do the same for him. That's a team, gentlemen. TONY D'AMATO: |

| I have to admit it did make me smile when I saw this news. Even more so that when some fans (and a few of them are on this thread) went from BG the KR Ledgend who had another year in him, to past it turncoat!
And not one of you really has a clue exactly the salary that has been agreed. The fact is he wanted to stay and you couldnt meet his expectations financially and so parted company.
He will be a very useful addition to an already very good second row at FC and Im sure PG will use him accordingley, If hes injured a lot then thats a risk you take, it could happen to any player.
As most of you have rightly said BG is a model pro and knows how to look after his body, with the right guidance he CAN have another good year.
For me, the main difference is at KR, Benny was integral, first name on the sheet, at FC he will be part of squad and uses accordingley, giving him time to recover from game to game.
He will be a great mentor and leader to the young players and all teams need a blend of youth and experience, that is exactly what PG is doing.
At the end of the day if he had signed another year at KR, even at the imaginary £100K per year figure that is being banded about, you would all be singing from the rooftops.
Get over it.
Welcome to the biggest club in Hull Mr Galea and wish you every success.

We can only aspire to your level of objectivity, obviously.

You heard different? Maybe he's playing for the privilege of lining up next to Ellis, like the HDM assume everyone else will.

He might change his mind when he finds Lynne is going there.

| Well, I'd love to take him for a year. I've seen him many times and know he's a very good, very professional player with guts and passion.
Age has nothing to do with it. Rovers are cutting their cloth to accomodate the massive losses this season. The fact they reduced his wage (a proven player who offered far more than Clinton did in his time) speaks volumes.

Rovers 100% offered Galea a deal, it wasn't one he found acceptable. Still, he may as well take the 100K from Mr Pearson before returning down under. Good luck to him, smashing bloke.'"
I think 100K will be about right, was told Hudgell offered him 85K compared to his 135K this season
