Sheffield - 2 football clubs doing absolutely nothing (at least city made a go of it in the prem and stayed up) and dont even get me started on there RL side.
I never said i wanted a stadium built near the deep - i meant that for the central location to suit all fans, as the KC is not central i dont care how many 100% you put in your quote - it is in West Park in WEST Hull.
If we were getting own stadium i think East Park would be a great location but parking would be a major issue, as i wouldn't want all the park taking over.
Can you explain why you are so against East Hull having a new stadium built somewere then? Because im sure it could have speedway/Dogs/Athletics built into it which would benifit Hull on a whole with school programmes been involved ect.
Sports development grants have nothing to do with money for the homeless/drugs and the like - they are all seperate issues.
I just dont understand why anyone from Hull would be so against this happening...'"
Leeds have got a Super League Rugby side that are winning things year on year and didn't ask their Council to build them a ground. The football side have played Champions League soccer in this decade. Again, I do not recall Leeds Council building their ground.
Sheffield have not got a Stadium built by the Council or public money. It is a different point.
Manchester have one stadium funded by the Council and one owned by Man Utd or their owners.
Need I go on?
The community projects that you sweepingly refer to are going on now, and have gone on for years. There is no need for a fancy stadium in East Hull to continue. Maybe a leisure centre catering for 20 different sports on the site where Woodford is, I dunno, but a Stadium will not benefit any community project at all.
If you look into it the work Hull City and Hull FC do is done in Schools, at Brantingham and at Costello. They very rarely use the stadium or any of it's buildings.
If you are referring to the Internet usage for the public at the KC see the Freedom centre on preston road.
There is no logical reason for wanting a new ground other than for Rovers fans.
Even the Rovers board don't even seem to care other than to ask for some money to build a new stand with a gym underneath or whatever it is they wanted to replace the golf stand with

As if we should take notice of someone who doesn't know the difference between Arco and the KC.

I see the KC once a week on my way back from London, it is no mistake!!
I see Arco when I am coming back from Hessle Foreshore late at night. There is no problem with me telling the difference

I thought you was joking earlier in the thread when you mentioned ARCO. You do realise you can see the stadium on the way in and out of hull on the train dont you?

Big stadium, white bits on top, next to a railway line. That'll be the KC. I've seen it from a train, and I've also seen a train going past it whilst I've been walking to/from Walton Street Car Park.
Easy mistake to make though given Arco is half the size, isn't in west park and is painted Blue.

| The thread gets worse.
No where in East Hull to build to stadium
Some folk are content with Hull's reputation, others want to see investment, the infastructure mantained and blue chip companies being tempted into the area and jobs for local people.

No where in East Hull to build to stadium
Nine pages in and we are still waiting for someone to give us a location in East Hull that is big enough for a 'Super Stadium'.
Not Kingswood, that is not East Hull. Not Hedon, that is not in Hull. So come on, where will this new place be built?
I have seen a patch of land at the end of Holderness ruuurd, used to be Cornmill Hotel, maybe that location could be used?
I want to see investment and to see Hull get better but would prefer to start with Housing, Schools, Hospitals, Sporting Academies (linked to Schools ie Sirius) and some more Bingo arena's.
When I hear one good reason why Hull City Council should build HKR a Stadium I will sign the petition, how is that for fairness?
Dont give me the spin of 'Community links, gym's, education' and all that bum fluff, for Preston Road see Freedom Centre, the new School etc etc etc for Holderness Road see Woodford, for Longhill see the thing near big shops I cannot be d to find the name of
How many people who need free Internet and other such facilities a new 'East Hull Super Stadium' will bring are gonna travel past existing centres and community projects to go to Craven Park (which is basically where most Rovers fans petitioning think the new Stadium should be built)? Cost of travel to a stadium to them would be pointless.
Forgive me for having no other comparisons but I have no idea what else people are asking for at a new stadium. Adult education? A cafe? A swimming pool?

| Good point mate
Think the one good point of the KC's location is its ease of access from Clive Sullivan way, all the local pubs etc and its nearness to town
Dont think the Cornmill land is big enough though.

Cornmill will be big enough if Dobson Leaves, it will be back to 1500 plus a few ex players then
As for the KC's location, I am amazed how many thick people actually think because it was built in a park with the name 'West' in it Rovers were pushed away by the other two clubs and the Council when the plans were made!!
Nothing to do with the Station, the Motorway or the short walk from the town centre for many people who get the bus. Or the fact there was nowhere more central big enough.
I am pretty sure the reason Leyton Orient do not want to play their home games at Wembley is for similar reasons

There is simply no way to drum sense into some people, you might as well just give it up!
