| Quote fun time frankie="fun time frankie"I think people are expecting a signing a week like last season forgetting that we lost half the team last year for once we aren't trying to bed in 10 new players we are at least going in with a settled team with no nob heads spitting there dummy out'"
Aye - I think we've got used to loads of off-season signings. We've had 4 [umajor[/u squad rebuilds, by my count, in the 7 off-seasons since Morgan left for one reason or another, which is clearly more than would have been ideal.
Mind you, the continuity we had from 2015-16, when a pack that had struggled anyway and lost some senior players had Tyrone McCarthy replaced by Chris Clarkson and everybody else replaced by a 21 year old Robbie Mulhern, wasn't great either.
I did wonder if there'd be another 'statement of intent' signing for 2018, but in fairness the question would be who? Potentially transformative players are a rare breed and it can go wrong (see Mason, Willie). Carney, McGuire and Masoe are a pretty good triumvirate to have added or announced before last season ended.
It's maybe a good thing that the current head coach didn't go through 2016 with us and doesn't see things through that prism quite so much.
If the Luke Page rumour is true, that'll be a bit more POWER! He looks like a lad who might win the odd collision. Hull will probably sign to play in the centres now, and we'll get Jack Logan back on loan - Worst preseason... ever!

Lets be honest, if you put a deliberately untrue and misinformed post about this been the worst preseason ever did you expect no reaction?
I can think if 1 in the last 2 years that outstripped this one ten fold. Operating on Lunt a week before kick off, relying on a crocked Campo and a half cut Kelly, sending the lads doing bob a job instead of training now that was a bad pre-season'"
To be fair ale might of been involved in the posting of this thread, but this pre season has been sh*te, id take a fit campo over maguire probably not a popular opinion, I just personally don't think we are anywhere near the strength or depth required for superleague

Making a tautological statement does not add anything to your opinion. What has been wrong with this pre-season so far? You don't rate our new signings and Addy's unfortunate injury. Is that it? Yes I think the ale has a lot to answer for.

I think we need a couple of big lads but that's it.
Personally wouldn't on campo if he was on fire, took our club for a ride and when he was fit he couldn't manage to skipper a squad to it's most crucial win even at 2 scores up with minutes to play.

| Good that Westmorland has kicked the Dave Taylor rumour into the long grass because he is uncoachable according to Wayne Bennett. English forward, Centre and half-back on the list so it seems the size of our pack is not a concern for TS. Looking at the match up with Wakefield in round 1 and their props are Fifita, England, Pauli Pauli, Huby, Arona with Hirst and Baldwinson as fringe players. On a heavy pitch I think our pack may struggle.

A light mobile pack is at its best when grounds harden up the story goes. Do you fancy our pack against theirs? We need to get it wide and early because our advantage is in the backs.
