Agree. I personally would like to see instead of it all being held at one place. A weekend we're games are held at different non RL grounds. (I expect Cas v Leeds in Middlesbrough etc). Which as you say if done rightly can attract big crowds promote the sport and hopefully get young kids playing it.
In my opinion Magic Weekend has pretty much had its day now. And as you say is now all about money for the rfl. As is international rugby nowadays.

But even if it did run properly, The Hull Daily Mail website would be one of the last I'd read. It was crap when I lived in Hull. Can't see it improving since I left.

Amazingly, using the web site has actually made the experience worse.

Just for clarification......Rovers keep the entire proceeds of all Magic Weekend ticket sales made through the club.

As do all the clubs. The decision to go again with the Hull derby was not made for the financial gain of the RFL.

Hull FC did not request that there should be no Hull derby so you can't please everyone.

Hull KR v Widnes? Not going to excite too many people surely.

As for MW, I’d be happy for any fixture but the one we got. It’s been done to death and 1 year off wasn’t nearly long enough.

It is minefield trying to read anything on the Hull daily mail website with adverts along with pop up adverts along with random things it just takes you too

I do not get adverts or pop up adverts when reading it on line I have a advert blocker

A radical approach to the saturation of derby's is for the fanbase to say enough is enough by not attending Magic and the pre-season cashcow.

I certainly won't be going and haven't been to the 'friendly' for three years.

It makes sense for Hull and rovers to play a preseason game. Timings / travel etc are cut down. That said, I don' attend pre season friendlies as there is simply nothing in it for the fan other then to see a glorified training session. Simple answer is not to go.

Magic is a competitive league game, no problem with this, but i the RFL want to make it a genuine spectacle then they should have 1v2, 3v4 etc from the previous seasons standings to in theory get two equally matched teams.
